That comment was racist! Don't you see that Spielberg was trying to be inclusive as the sole black guy in his prior film was among the first to be eaten?

Dakota Fanning was supposed to act scared through out the whole film and she delivered a good performance. The girl from the Lost World was not only totally out of place, but also showed no real acting talent and the gymnastic routine was one of the lamest ever put on film.

What the heck is Houndog? Anyway Dakota Fanning is as very good young actress. Same as Chloe Grace Moretz, but recognizing talent apparently to you guys equals pedophilia.
    Whatever.

Can't believe I forgot to mention this one, but it was on yesterday and I remembered how re-watchable it is:

    The Poseidon Adventure.

Obviously, the 70s version with Gene Hackman, not the piece of shit re-make.

SUCH an entertaining and re-watchable movie.

Better than ANY action movie you see today, without the need for bullshit ass CGI.

CGI is great, not bullshit. Be thankful. Can you imagine Jurassic park with The original Clah if the Titans type special effects?

CGI is, 99% of the time, an elaborate cover for a shitty work of art

Avatar, for example, is absolute GARBAGE... A stunningly sophomoric, ham-fisted, horribly generic pile of shit that fans convinced themselves was actually a good film because "ZOMG!! LOOK AT THE SHINY OBJECTS!!!"

    A great mid-70s, tense slow-burning political thriller?
    That rewatchable? :scratcher:

This perfectly ties-in with my commen on another thread about movies budgeted at US$200 million, and a lot of that is CGI....are usually terrible.

Pirates Of The Caribbean, for instance. A combined budget of US$1 billion....yet one of the worst series of movies ever created starring one of the most annoyingly average actors of all-time.

    I'm with Cdogg and Magus.

Avatar is a piece of shit, as if the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise.

    http://www.denofgeek.us/movies/jura...e-best-use-of-cgi-in-a-movie-steven-spielberg

Read that, and you'll understand the difference between a great movie like Jurassic Park and an otherwise SHIT movie like Avatar, or another shit movie like Transformers, which uses CGI as a crutch.

dont act like Avatar is the only film with shiny special effects ya cantankerous Irish cunt. Many film have stellar effects and are ignored by the populace. Avatar happened to be a very good film.

I think some of you go to the other extreme ( just like your boxing talk) and deliberately put down any film that has a lot of CGI, completely ignoring the plot or the writing.

    Cunts

No, WE'RE not ignoring the plot and writing - YOU are.

Avatar had a stupid ass plot, horrible writing, and totally NON-interesting characters.

Basically, the OPPOSITE of Jurassic Park.

Avatar had a great plot and a great concept ( the avatars). All the main characters were good: the villain, the blue alien girlfriend and her parents and the next tribe leader. What's the matter with you fuckers! Lol

Dude came back on Toruk, only a handful of times that happened since the time of the first suns, United the clans and with the help of Eywa defeated all of the technology of the evil whites....er I mean humans.

    Good stuff. Y'all missed out.

Sure similar stories have happened in other films but nothing is new under the sun and they had a nice twist on an old story.

Does anybody HONESTLY remember ONE single line of dialogue from Avatar? ONE!?!?!?!?

You should be able to remember at least a FEW lines of dialogue from every great movie.

There's not ONE memorable thing about Avatar.

Sly is probably on IMDB right now looking up all these names, because even he doesn't remember them.
