WTF??? Name the last fighter Khan 'beat the fuck outta'. I'll wait... You'd probably have to go back to the Judah fight, which was 100 years ago now. Jesse Vargas is mediocre, don't get me wrong, but he has enough pop in that right hand to KO Khan. Khan has NOOOOOOOO chin. And no defense.
Virgil Hunter has a big mouth, we all know that. But he's simply challenging Bitchnelo to take the fight that the WHOLE boxing world wants to see.
Kellerman is awful, an hbo shill plain and simple. He also gave credit to Tapia corner for stopping the fight when it was clear he could continue. Last night card was garbage yet they were trying to pass it off as caviar
Yes, he is. Canelo is more talented than Brook and Garcia. ESPECIALLY Danny Gift, who's a very limited fighter.
It's like the time this young wannabe tough guy was trash talking an old man on a corner. How was he supposed to know that it was former junior lightweight world champion, Rocky Lockridge? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-VFAtkIhjcs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yeah. I mean, I hate Canelo as much as the next guy, but Jesus Christ.... Danny Gift is a fighter of very limited talented. Canelo has much more ability than Garcia.
Matthysse and Khan were excellent wins for Danny boy. Since then it's been bland performances. Canelo has the loss to Mayweather against him. He's looked good since then though his weight class at 154 has dried up. His biggest tests will either be welterweights coming up or him going up to 160.
Garcia's best win is over Matty-Ice, who though is a big puncher, he's not the most skillful/talented guy either. Danny is an upset waiting to happen any at now. His team are desperately trying to avoid Brook, Spence, and Thurman. But now that the Floyd cash-out doesn't seem to be on the cards, Danny Gift might have to face up to the fact of needing to step in the ring with one of the top guys for a pay day. Can't duck and dodge forever.
Matthysse will always be his apex performance. Khan? LOL. We could sit here literally ALLLLLLL day listing fighters throughout history who would KO Khan. I liked Matthysse, and still to this day am a fan. But he had some limitations that perhaps we didn't acknowledge. Comparing Garcia to Canelo, even in a P4P sense, Canelo is better at every facet of boxing. I mean, Canelo is no defensive wiz, but his defense is A LOT more solid than Garcia's, and he has much quicker hands and offensive reflexes which allow him to react far more rapidly on the trigger than Garcia - both leading and countering. And as much as we harp on Canelo lacking great stamina, Garcia's stamina is even MORE mediocre than Canelo's. Danny Gift has a good chin and a good left hook. At 140 he had a good left hook, I should say. Two fights in at 147, and he has yet to show power.
If Garcia hasn't proven himself yet then... Brook, Thurman, and Spence for damn sure haven't either. Thurman has at least fought more than one name in his career but he hasn't had a defining fight on the level of Garcia-Matthyse.
Spence? Do you realize that it's very likely that Garcia would have a tough go with Chris Algeri. He fought a COMPLETELY shot Paulie last summer, hit shot Paulie with everything but the sink, and couldn't drop him.
It Makes PERFECT Sense, Brother Hut... Canelo's the CLEAR A-Side of the Promotion, Based on Superior MARKETABILITY and his Demonstrated WORTH as a Draw...To Top it All Off, Canelo's the Lineal Middleweight Champion....Conversely, GGG Had NOT Proven Himself to Be MORE of a Draw than Ward (@ That Point),Was NOT More Highly Regarded Within the Sport (Particularly Lb for Lb) and WAS NOT the Defending Champion...Nonetheless, GGG DEMANDED a 50-50 Split AND a Catchweight, to Face Ward.... How is that NOT Worse than Canelo Demanding a Catchweight for GGG???...How is it NOT Blatantly HYPOCRITICAL for GGG To Ask for a Catchweight, Yet SCOFF @ the Notion, When Presented w/1???.... REED:hammert:
It wouldn't be hard to come up with a list of fighters that would ko damaged versions of Angulo and Kirkland, Alfonso Gomez (gift stoppage), and... Uhm... Who has he even beat? Austin Trout? Old Cotto? Old Mosley? And he's outweighing these guys by 10-15-20 pounds. Austin Trout is his best win for goodness sake.
Ward is bigger and would have beat golovkin at 168lbs. Golovkins best division is 160 and he should probably stay there his entire career It also isn't a big money fight with ward right now, let alone then I also think he should take the alvarez fight at 155lbs
How the silly fucksticks can you justify "The Lineal Middleweight Champion" not wanting to fight a Middleweight for his title?
These so called middleweight Champs have been avoiding golovkin for years, literally. Sturm, martinez and cotto all avoided facing him
it does not make sense. if GGG were the 168 pound champion and then told Ward he would only fight him at a catch weight....then, he'd be doing something as absurd as Canelo is doing and then, you might have a point.
Don't try to reason with REED when it comes to Golov. He's a blatant Golov hater. FOR THE RECORD, no, Golov wasn't in a rush to fight Ward. But it is different, as Golov never traveled to super middleweight, won the lineal super middleweight title, then claimed Ward has to fight at 164 because he (Golov) isn't a true super middleweight. AAANNDDDD.... Golovkin-Ward was never the biggest fight to made in the sport. Golovkin-Canelo is. Everybody can see how it's different, save for REED and Muzse, who have have a blatant dislike of Golov. PERSONALLY, I fuckin despise catchweights. And if you wanna trace it back to its source, I guess its essentially Ray Leonard's fault for starting this bullshit. But Ginger is taking it to a new level of bullshit.
Not to mention, the Andre Ward fight was never really on the table to begin with. I actually like Ward and think an in shape and healthy Ward probably makes GGG look pretty silly, but the motherfucker can barely make it out of a training camp anymore and hasn't even fought as a Super Middleweight in almost 3 years. If Golovkin has anything going for him, it's that he has stayed active, even if he's been forced to fight all tomato cans. He's getting long in the tooth himself. He can't afford to wait around until Ward feels healthy enough to fight and sit through a bunch of postponements. Especially for a fight that probably won't pay him shit to begin with.
THAT sentence right there is EXACTLY the reason why Crapnelo and Golden Boy wanna postpone this fight as long as possible. Waiting for Golov to get old. Canelo can talk all the shit he wants, it's just a sign that he's NOT confident. Golov hasn't talked any shit about Canelo. Just to sign the contract. He knows he'll whup this Ginger clown. Canelo is all "We don't fuck around!" blah, blah, blah... yet he's FUCKING AROUND.
I don't see any drop off in golovkin occurring in the next 2 to 3 years. He doesn't get hit much. Alvarez can wait but it will only help him fill his pockets, not have a better shot at winning
Canelo ain't exactly a prime Jones. Depending on if he fights some quality fighters, he could easily lose within the next 2 or 3 years to someone who's not Golov.
