Canelo is bigger and more durable than Green and Ranzany though. Having said that, Ray does get him outta there eventually. The ending would look similar to Leonard-Ranzany, it would just take longer. I think the first 3 rounds of Khan-Canelo tells us all we need to know about how POORLY Crapnelo would cope with Ray's speed.
Dave Boy Green wasn't a bum. Unless you consider Hatton a bum too, cause Green was no worse than Wicky. Don't be mad because Floyd took apart a Brit brawler in 10 methodical rounds after struggling early, and Ray half killed a Brit brawler in 4, effortlessly.
Leonard wins, obviously, and it isn't close. It might go the distance though. Alvarez wouldn't open up, he seems to have a good chin and Leonard wasn't a KO artist even though he sometimes is portrayed as one
hatton was far more accomplished and proven than Dave boy green, he stopped Kostya Tszyu y'all musta forgot. This ain't about Floyd though for the umpteenth time! Sigh
Of course it's a distance fight. I know Ray Leonard has been promoted to one punch knockout specialist since his retirement but those of us that remember him know that he only stopped guys through accumulation and didn't knockout steel chinned guys. Canelo has an iron chin and isn't a face first brawler, no way does Leonard stop him, no freaking way.
Exactly. Canelo would NOT open up. Problem is, you must have Leonard confused with bitch ass Floyd. Floyd saw Canelo go into a shell and was content to pot shot his way to easy victory. You go into a shell against Ray Leonard, and he takes it as weakness and unleashes non-stop offense on you. Perhaps Leonard's power is overstated, but Leonard's killer instinct is definitely the stuff of legend. Make no mistake about it, prime Leonard did NOT like decisions. He was in there with the intent of stopping his opponent. A completely different objective than Floyd.
Speed is power. Yall are acting like it's the force of Leonard's shots that would get Canelo out. It's the speed and frequency at which Canelo would be getting hit.
Canelo isn't some face first margarito type. If he were you'd have a point but as he isn't , he lasts the distance because guess what, Leonard is naturally smaller and even as a Welterweight he wasn't a huge puncher. If he were he would have finished Hearns much earlier and would have hurt the smaller Duran. As such, y'all are talking unfounded bullshit.
Hearns and Benitez weren't face first either though, and Ray took them out. Canelo has a good chin, but doubtful that it's impenetrable. Leonard would land plenty.
Canelo has a better chin that Hearns. Leonard stopping Benitez though is very impressive I agree. But that wasn't from power per se.
He was a kid; his lips still wet from his mother's milk. We're talking about the full grown man Canelo.
