Let's say a pre-Calzaghe undefeated lacy moved up to challenge Andries at 175lbs. What transpires?

    Andries.

In retrospect, Lacy was a horrible fighter from the jump.

Andries was horrible too though. Slow as molasses and horrible stamina

Hahaha! You cracked me up with that one I have to say.

Lacy comparisons aside, Andries was a horrible fighter. Slow, bad stamina, mediocre chin. There's a reason why Virgil Hill laughed at Andries' prospects during the build up to the proposed light heavyweight tournament between those two, Williams and Moorer. Everyone knew Andries wasn't in their league.

Of course because of Lacy hate these days ( how dare he get embarrassed by the welsh slapper!) y'all want to pretend Andries was ten times better than him. Andries wasn't ten times better than anyone.

You're the one revising history ya knob.

Andries was a multiple time champion and a good fighter ... His opposition was generally superior to what Hill faced ... He also had the decency to lose to Hearns when the guy was still awesome... Virgil Hill was scared to death of the corpse of Thomas Hearns and was humiliated ... Lacy was putrid and shouldn't even be the subject of a mythical matchup

Andries was shit. Sure Hearns was a great fighter but there's no excuse for being beaten from pillar to post like that if you're even halfway decent.

    Andries blowed

Everyone knows that if that tournament came off he would have been humiliated.

Pre Calzaghe Lacy is at the very least competitive with Andries. At the very least. Andries was a scrub

You seem to forget how bad Andries was. Sure he had three great fights with Harding but so what. Andries had heart and strength but was inept

You seem to forget that he could've been twice as bad as you idiotically rate him and he'd still be 10 times better than that bum Lacy

Calzaghe would have embarrassed Andries just as badly as he did Lacy. Difference in speed and stamina would have been ridiculous.

Ha yes, calzaghe. The marvelous fighter who completely dominated that legend Robbed Reid, and destroyed p4p entrants like David starie and Kabary Salem.

I'm sure he would have done the same to Andries.

A microcosm of the entire fight. I'm appalled that so many think he won that fight easily.

Yup... one clean punch landed in the whole "exchange"... By Hopkins, not the slapping Zumba instructor flailing away in his general direction

always seemed like joe had extra tape or something in there. he had this weird feline punch style and it always seemed to sting more than you would expect.

Calzaghe clearly beat Hopkins and he would clearly beat Andries. Andries-Lacy is an entertaining fight that Lacy loses.

That makes them look bad more than it makes Hopkins look good because he so clearly lost the fight.

Hopkins was admittedly very good in the first three rounds, after that point he did dick all apart from a few eye catching punches here and there.
