IMO the two worst have gotta be Kenu Reeves attempt at a Brit accent in Dracula and Kevin Costner's attempt at a Brit accent in Robin Hood.

Did Costner even attempt it in Robin Hood? I get the feeling he might have spouted one or two lines and then said "fuck this shit", I'm Kevin Costner.

I'll admit I'm a bit confused when people rail over or get upset about various accents or dialects from actors. I generally don't notice or care, and when somebody goes off on some rant like "Oh, I really liked "The Town", but Jeremy Renner's take on the Boston accent nearly ruined it for me because it sounded more like the East Side of Lowell, Mass"......I want to punt them off the east side of a really jagged cliff.

Jon Voight(whatever his name Jolie's dad) in Anaconda...
Steven Seagal in a lot of his movies...but he's a terrible actor so I guess it doesn't count...

Yeah, but Voight was the only good thing about Anaconda. He Nic Cage's that shit. At least made it kind of funny.

Yeah, this one right here might actually take the cake.

It was sooooooooo bad that it made Concussion more of a comedy than a drama.

EASILY one of the worst movie accents ever.

I know this doesn't count as an accent per se, but Cookie Monster Batman was fucking terrible.

No, horrible as Bale's Batman voice is, it doesn't apply to this thread.

Bale can't be mentioned here period, as he pulls off an American accent as well as ANY British actor.

Good call! Among the many terrible things this overrated film has is Pacino's horrendous 'Cuban accent'. Cringe worthy.

I watched a Jason Statham film once where he tried really hard to do an American accent, he completely gave up on it about halfway through.

not accent, but another on-screen regional language mishap I heard recently was Tim Roth playing a Brit in The Incredible Hulk, had supposedly just been flown into the US, but using blatantly American phrasings: "we need to talk about what just went down.... it threw a forklift truck like it was a softball!!" brits don't say "went down" to mean "happened", and we barely know what a softball is.

pissed me off - they must have sounded wrong to Roth as he said them. he should have told the director, i'm not saying these fucking lines - here's how my character would say them.

in terms of accents which were just inappropriate, Brad Pitt's brief Jamaican accent in Meet Joe Black deserves a special mention. "no wobyeah mon. I from dee other side." when we heard that in the cinema people were cracking up with laughter.

As an expert in Scoattish accents, Ah foond it hilarious hoo in the film 'Highlander' an Egyptian wi' a Spanish surname shoould have a stronger Scoattish accent than the actual Highlander. Conversely, Christopher Lambert's accent wiz spot on:

    'Heatherrr! Pleeease!'

    Just kilting.

Kevin Costner shouldn't be mentioned because he didn't even ATTEMPT to do an English accent.

Sheriff of Nottingham- "Locksleeeeeeeeeeey, we're gonna gut cho hart out with a sssssspoon!"

    Robin Hood- "Then it begins!"

 So bad that it's actually hilarious. His acting was as bad as his lack of even attempting the accent.

I would think an international mercenary would know how to relate to an American since Brits are pussies and you kinda need to go through us if you want to go fight somewhere.
