    Thoughts...

  2. I haven't watched enough Benitez to make a prediction. It'll be a tough fight for Floyd given Wilfred's height reach and style...but it'll be a chess match as Benitez wasn't an aggressive prolific flurrier like a Leonard. In compubox history Floyd has the best hit and not get hit record and by far. I'm sure people will say that Benitez would have the same if he fought the guys that Floyd fought.

I see a split decision that could go either way

Floyd beat DLH who beat Vargas who beat Wright who beat Bronco McKart who beat Glenwood Brown who beat Luis Santana who beat Norris who beat Leonard who beat Benitez

Floyd wins and also defeats Vargas, Wright, McKart, Brown, Santana, Norris and Leonard by default

  4. stop your silliness and offer a decent response. It's a good topic

Benitez was better welter than Floyd and would win.

His performance against Palomino basically shits on Floyd's Hatton performance.

i give sly credit for saying this could go either way. you know deep down he does not believe it though.

I actually agree with sly....id favour benitez but his style would hardly bring floyd out in cold sweats. Not easy to beat Mayweather in a low volume posing/countering contest

Benitez could force the fight when it was necessary ... He was a lot more aggressive than Mayweather

  10. I like you but you're one ignorant cunt. Lol

Floyd has forced the fight, when necessary, on a few occasions even at welterweight.

Ever seen the following fights you nostalgic Irish Leprechaun?

    Mayweather Mosley
    Mayweather Judah
    Mayweather Ortiz
    Mayweather Hatton

Well, Floyd definitely fares better against Benitez than he would against Leonard and Hearns.

Where did I say he couldn't? Besides, the only Benitez your ignorant ass has probably ever seen is photos of Leonard celebrating the stoppage

Im not sure a willingness to do that helps him in this case

  14. Listen you intolerable backslidden Catholic, I've watched Benitez against Leonard, Hearns, Duran. That's enough footage to get a gauge

  15. Agreed.

Benitez range and countering ability is something Floyd never faced in the pros. Not to the degree that Benitez had.

I don't see why not ... He's the stronger and more powerful fighter of the two

  18. its a chess match though and tricky for both guys. From what I've seen of Benitez , I would give Floyd the edge over him in offensive reflexes ( aside from Jones Id give Fkiyd the edge in that category over pretty much anyone). By offensive reflex I mean capitalizing on openings ( make them miss and pay etc).

That's why it's a very close fight by any objective measure

  19. What hut is referring to is the fact that making Floyd the counterpuncher works better for Floyd. It's not like Benitez was some mini Tyson or something.

    Who gives a shit?

Have Benitez his own clothing line?

I don't think size and strength is really the currency these guys are trading. I think if one guy gets a bit frustrated and tries to force a fight in this one he might put himself at a bit of a disadvantage.

No shit, Sherlock... I'm saying he's wrong ... Benitez doesn't need to hang back to counter... He can come forward, put pressure on Floyd and create his own openings by making Floyd miss the right hand

    It's a close fight.

I agree but I don't see Floyd winning ... It's certainly his best shot against any of those big name guys from back then...

  26. Sounds easy. Just put pressure on Floyd and make him miss the right hand. Quite simple when you think about it, why didn't I think of that.

No one is beating Floyd at the counterpunch game, to beat him you bring the Leonard high volume top speed flurrying game, or the Hearns Height long reach jab right hand aggressive boxing game.

Everyone else is a pick'em fight with Floyd at best.

pbf can't deal with a taller fighter with good jab. he gets popped with that jab and his only response is to try to laugh it off.

    Or hold.

But yes, he's never met someone who could CONSISTENTLY jab him. Oscar was able to do it in spots but didn't have the energy to keep it up for 12 rounds.

Yeah, we're not talking about Eugene Hatcher doing it, we're talking about Wilfred Benitez

  30. Yeah but we're not talking about him doing it to Mickey Ward, we're talking about him doing it to Floyd Mayweather Jnr
