Nah. I think Love is the only hope they have to compete offensively. He was good tonight, probably need to be even better. They also need to get the ball out of Irvings hands far more and probably even cut his minutes if they want a shot at this series.
It's actually surprising how few people, even so called hardcore fans don't realize that Kyrie is not a very good basketball player. It's like a well kept secret despite how apparent it is. Just shows what good marketing and a few Pepsi commercials can do to a guys reputation.
Curry had a horrible game all around and was bailed out by poor Cav defense, particularly on the perimeter and excellent games from the bench.
That's Fine if YOU Don't Buy Into Athleticism, but Coaches, GM's and Team Owners Most CERTAINLY DO...Only On the Absolute RAREST of Occasions Will a Coach Pick the LESSER Player, Athletically...& In Those Cases, The Athlete is Typically JUST Athletic &/Or LACKS Basketball Intellect... Sorry, But that DOESN'T Apply to LeBron James, Despite the Clear SLANT of Your Sentiments in His Regard... Again, REED Never SUBSCRIBED to The Ranking, Only Argued it's MERIT... REED:hammert:
REED Was Just About to Say... If You've NEVER Seen LeBron James OR Steph Curry Play, Until Tonight, WHO Would You Walk Away Saying is "The Best Player in the NBA"???... This is the 7th CONSECUTIVE Game (That MATTERED), Where LeBron James Walks Away, Crown INTACT... REED:hammert:
You're an "Analytics" Guy... That Being Said, REED Would Loooooooooooooooove to See the "Analytics" of Kyrie and Steph's #'s in the 2 NBA Finals Games They've Actually Played, Head to Head???... Thanks in ADVANCE for Posting This... REED:hammert:
Steph-Kyrie from Game 1 Last Year.... Steph - 26pts, 4reb, 8ast, 2stl, 0blk, 4TO's, 10-20fg, 2-6 3's, 4-4ft Kyrie - 23pts, 7reb, 6ast, 4stl, 2blk 1 TO, 10-22fg, 2-8 3's, 1-1ft Steph-Kyrie from Game 1 This Year... Steph - 11pts, 5reb, 6ast, 0stl, 0blk, 5 TO, 4-15fg, 3-8 3's, 0-0ft Kyrie - 26pts, 3reb, 4ast, 3stl, 0blk, 3 TO, 7-22fg, 1-4 3's 11-12ft How "Apparent" is THAT???...Like he Said, REED Awaits your "Analytics" Take on These 1st 2 Games, Head to Head... REED:hammert:
Cleveland gets blown out in a game when Steph plays like shit. Yup. That settles it. Nothing more to see here. This series is over.
Yep, and Isiah Thomas' Pistons Actually WON More Playoff Games, Head to Head, than Jordan's Bulls Did... WHO was the BETTER PLAYER???... REED:hammert:
Analytics or eye test they both played abysmally. I can run the numbers on tonight though... Kyrie shot about 47 percent True Shooting (Essentially the equivalent of shooting 13-28) 4 assists to 3 turnovers. Assist rate of 21.8% Usage rate of 35 Curry shot 36 percent True Shooting 6 assists to 5 turnovers. Assist percentage 21.2% Usage rate of 20.7 Curry probably had a slightly more positive impact due to his gravity and he wasn't AS bad defensively, but he was uncharacteristically poor tonight in a number of spots. Kyrie was just awful on that end but that's normal for him so nothing really to be alarmed about. At the end of the day Kyrie's awfulness is and has always been exacerbated by his nonsensical ball dominance on a team with two better offensive players than him. It really makes zero sense and only speaks to Kyrie's microscopic basketball IQ. Curry sucked tonight but at least he realized he sucked tonight and dominated the ball less. Kyrie surpassed LeBron in usage despite shooting a below league average shooting percentage from the floor.
Draymond Green was the best player on the floor tonight so Im not really sure the relevance of outperforming a guy who played poorly, particularly when his team lost this game.
Great TEAM Win for Golden State...1-10, Cleveland is NOfuckingMATCH, Man for Man... T-Lue Needs to SHRINK his Roster Significantly, Moving Forward...REED GETS Why Lue Subbed the Way he Subbed in Game 1, and REED Would've Subbed Likewise...But the Cavs Need to Sub to WIN, Moving Forward...Bron, Kyrie, Love and Whomever Else is Actually CONTRIBUTING, Can Rest in the Summer... Final Series of the Season... REED:hammert:
The Significance is, Bron's Outperformed the So-Called "Best Player in the League" for 7 CONSECUTIVE Games Now, as REED Stated SEVERAL Posts Ago... That's NOT a Fluke Either... REED:nono:
But 1 has CLEARLY Played LESS "Abysmally", In their 1st 2 Head to Head Finals Appearances... That's for MAKING REED's Point for Him.... REED:hammert:
Jordan won 6 out of 6 titles and was series MVP 6 times. Thomas won 2 out of 3. "Like I said before" these guys are playing for championships, not personal stat lines.
OKC is a tougher matchup for GS than Clev is. Trust me, this shit is over. "Like I said before" the Cavs are front runners and mentally weak. They had a cakewalk through the East, but they dunno what to do in the face of adversity. Even if they win game 2, I'm still picking GS in 6. If GS goes up 2-0, then my prediction changes to Dubs in 5.
Really???... So as the CATALYST of the Detroit Pistons REPEAT Championship Squads (3 CONSECUTIVE Finals Appearances), You're Telling REED Dude WASN'T Top 5 @ ANY Point of His Career???...That's THE Craziest Shit You've Said Since Announcing Steph is ALREADY Better than Magic Johnson Ever Was... WOW!!!.... REED:mut:
Shaun Livingston played like an all star and JR Smith was invisible. JR's teammates should tell him to take his ass back to Cleveland if he's going to play like that.
Basketball is a team game and they don't even play the same position nor have the same role. It's not even true anyway. Curry easily outperformed James in games 4, 5 and arguably 6. Also LeBron was outplayed tonight again, by Draymond Green who actually does have a similar role to him.
Chauncey Billups was the catalyst for a championship Pistons team, was he ever top 5? The Zeke Thomas legend is overrated cause of those rings. Jordan Magic Bird Barkley Hakeem There you go. 5 players right there from circa late 80's who Thomas wasn't as good as.
