WHO's the "Best Player in the NBA"???.... REED:hammert:
Barnes role kinda sucks for projecting him as a 20 million dollar player but there are SOME indicators that he could be a 2nd option(elite three point shooting, excellent finishing at the rim) His lack of ability to turn the corner is just so damning though.
Even if Golden State Closes the Series Out in Cleveland, AGAIN, it's DOUBTFUL Steph Gets the MVP, Especially if Klay, Draymond or Livingston Plays Well... Steph will Need to Be EPIC in Game 6 or GREAT in Games 6 and 7, to Get Himself BACK Into MVP Contention...Thus Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar, he's Only Been GREAT in Game 4... REED:hammert:
under no circumstance should the Cavs let GS close them out and win consecutive championships on their home court...
Refs will do what they can to make it go 7 games. Still think GS will win. Cleveland put in a lot of effort last night and I could see a let down on Thursday night.
The NBA has turned into a promoter. I have never seen them try so hard to build a star in Curry. Even the Inside the NBA guys orgasm over him. But honestly the things Bron has done in his career to this day are still much more amazing to me.
Curry IS a star, and he had the best regular season in the NBA of anybody else by a longshot. Not many people are claiming Curry is All-Time better then Lebron. It's mostly insecure Lebron fanatics piling on Curry for not being the same type of player as him and turning it into a Curry vs. Lebron showdown. I would like to see Curry get credit just once, for NOT being the guy jacking up 35 shots a game, when he feels he's not "ON" and deferring to his teammates instead.
curry has been good and clutch these past two years, but lets face facts here. if he is trying to guard irving 1 on 1 he has almost zero chance. where as if irving is on him he typically needs a screen to get free and despite going up against one of the better perimeter defenders in thompson, irving has still managed to outperform curry this series
Irving is having a great series after a bit of a rough start. I'm certainly not in the "there are a 100 players in the NBA better then Irving" faction. :: ............but Golden State switches off quite a bit to try and argue this has been a Irving vs. Klay defensive matchup. I've seen Curry guarding Lebron several times per game for christ sakes.........and yes, Lebron is going to dominate that type of 1 on 1 matchup.
Without Question, Steph Curry's a STAR. REED's "Issue" is the Infatuation with Steph's Recent Exploits At The EXPENSE of Past and Current Greats....As REED Types, Curry is Not Better than Isaiah Thomas, he's Not Better than Magic Johnson and he ISNT the Best Player in the League; LeBron James is... The Unwritten Rule of the NBA Demands the Team Alpha to ASSume the Offensive Load, for Better or Worse...Bron's Caught Flack for that in the Past and Even in This Years Finals...Michael Jordan is PRAISED On the Strength of NEVER Deferring.... That's Simply the WAY of the NBA.... REED
Isaiah can easily be argued on way or another. Magic? He's obviously not on the same level. Magic was the perfect combo guard. Magic could never hit the outside shot like Curry, but he had a ton of other things in his toolbox that size alone, precludes Curry from ever being able to do. Curry is part of a well-oiled machine. That's the amazing thing about that team, is they don't need an Alpha scorer and the combination of egos they have allow them to operate just like that. They can have a different Alpha every night, and no one guy has to chuck up 35 shots a game for them. Spurs operate on a similar spectrum.
Sure, he is a three point phenomenon. That is really about it. But when you have the NBA try and push him like he is an all time great already and basically trying to sell jerseys, tickets and merchandise, it's pretty nauseating.
That's pretty silly. He's the most efficient shooter in history. He creates his own shots. Only reason he doesn't average 12 assists a game is because he's too valuable as a shooter. He led the league in FT%, and as much as he gets downgraded for defense, he also led the league in Steals. He also gets way more rebounds then his size would indicate (almost double what a similar sized Kyrie gets). Just a 3-point specialist? Curry also led Guards in Field Goal percentage from Inside the Paint. Cleveland is over-compensating on Curry defensively and opening other guys up, which is pretty fucking valuable in it's own right. No, he's not a one-man wrecking crew........but he's certainly not a one-dimensional heaver. That's fucking silly.
The guy creates his own shots and never follows them up. Sure he makes many of them, but he is setting a bad example for many kids who want to emulate him. Hell, Curry is not even following up Klay's shots. Simply walking away after you shoot them is ridiculous. He better hope he never loses that three, because IMO, nothing else is going to make him a winner. He is not the all around player Bron is. And NOO!! It's not arguable that he is better than Thomas at this stage. That is ridiculous.
WTF are you talking about. Did you miss the part we I mentioned he averaged nearly twice as many rebounds as Kyrie at the same size? If a shooter is walking away after taking a shot, it's because that's the way that team has chosen to play defense on certain sets. Getting back on defense has taken precedence over crashing the boards for offensive rebounds, forcing the other team into a half court offense and a less efficient way to the basket. Blame that on the analytics revolution, not on Curry.
I read what you said about rebounds. It means nothing. Take away the three from Curry and he aint shit. I would take klay over curry any day.
Jesus H Christ I thought REED and Neils posts are bad I've spent so much time on reddit/sbnation I forgot how casual basketball fans perceive the game of basketball
Meh. That was true last year but Cleveland has had plenty of success guarding Curry one on one this year. Hes really not sharp. Hes playing through a knee injury at minimum and his shooting at the basket has been near nonexistent
