Loma's a better talent with a higher skill level, but I have NO IDEA what would happen to him when Corrales lands. Chico wasn't fuckin Rocky Martinez.
Yeah, and the only time Martinez landed clean, he noticeably bothered Loma (martinez is a good puncher though). Really hard fight to pick right now. I could see Loma just dancing aroung him and landing the straight left at will, and I could see Chico imposing his will and breaking him down with bodypunches. Hopefully the Walter fight materiailse, since it would help give us an indication on how Loma would deal wth a tall strong, hard punching guy
That fight won't tell us anything about Loma vs Corrales. Corrales is several levels better than Walters and would have slaughtered Walters. Walters was good at 126 when he had a size edge over guys, and his best chance over Loma was at that weight. At 130 Walters looks ordinary, and I fully expect Loma to stop him.
True. Only a matter of time before somebody posts a "Loma vs Floyd at 130" thread. Let's stop it in tracks before it happens. No, Loma does NOT beat Floyd at 130.
Like X said, pretty much depends on how Loma deals with Corrales punch. My guess is he doesn't eat too many of them and he goes on to win a UD.
why couldn't loma do to corrales the same thing pbf did? don't let him get set. turn him. easily hit him.
I don't get the sense that Lomachenko hits particularly hard. He's a great boxer but not terribly elusive either. At this point I have to go with Corrales by KO.
Maybe because Loma isn't Floyd. Doesn't hit as hard, is not as elusive and quite frankly isn't as good.
Loma isn't a puncher but hed bounce Corrales all over the ring like Floyd and Casamayor. The question is what happens when he gets hit clean and how he responds to being hurt. We have no idea.
Yeah, there's no question Lomachenko would hit Corrales a lot, but what happens when he takes one in return?
I'm calling bollocks on this. The guy has an incredible defence. Not saying he is better than Floyd but there's nothing to say he's way worse or anything. You guys might disagree but Loma is a SERIOUS talent.
I am not sure it is obvious at all. You have to remember that he still is a novice in pro boxing. Right now he would lose to Floyd of course but after two years, I am not sure. Lomachenko is what an impressive talent looks like, obviously we don't know enough about him. The punch he received against Martinez seemed to land on his shoulder
I haven't defended Floyd in years, but Jesus Christ! It was Rocky Martinez guys, relax. Mikey Garcia destroyed Martinez as well.... 2-3 years ago. Loma's a damn good fighter, but I think we need to question whether or not he could even beat a prime Casamayor before we discuss him against a prime Floyd.
This is the thing though, and I'm not saying he IS as good as Floyd, but if he doesn't get the chance to face a prime Casamayor then how does he get to prove he's on that level? I also get the feeling if he did beat someone like that now the other bloke would be written off as a bum. The facts are, Loma is arguably the greatest amateur of all time, fought Salido in his SECOND pro fight and lost an SD, then beat an unbeaten Gary Russell to win his first world title in his very next fight. It's impressive shit.
Yeah its impressive, but the guy is not a spring chicken, and pbf wasn't exactly a slouch. Anyways, as i said before, as good as loma is, he clearly is not as good as pbf was. Hes not as sharp and crisp, doesn't string them as beautifully and clesrly not as good a counterpuncher. Probably has less power also
PBF was a maestro. Never seen such accurate counter punching, such great punch selection and punch placement. Transition from defence to offence. Tremendous fighter. Asshole outside the ring no doubt , but there can be no criticisms for his ability inside the ring.
The man is a brilliant boxer and I've never said otherwise. I don't care for him outside of the ring but I can separate the art from the artist.
I disagree but we'll just go around in circles here. Loma has challenged himself from the off in his pro career more than pretty much 99% of boxers in history, let alone Floyd.
What advantage does loma have over floyd??. I sincerly dont see him being better at anything, bar maybe bodypunching
I think Loma just wasn't prepared for Salido's roughhouse tactics. I think he'd be ready this time and he's know how to handle it.
I think he is the better aggressor and possibly has better footwork too. Floyd is more accurate and faster. And X, you relax. Nobody is saying that Loma beats Floyd and even if he did, he isn't proven at all. He just looks like an ATG talent, he is nowhere near great pro as of now
Not even body punching. Floyds jab to the body will go into legend. Look at some of the body punches he landed on ndou, Gatti, hatton.
What level? Prime PBF of a PBF with less than 10 fights? If its the latter then I have to disagree with you, because he certainly is.
