I watched the film at my local cinema when it was released back in 1978. I was not prepared for this. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. That said, I watched the film two more times...and was scared again each time!

I´ve been watching horror movies the past week with my missus - one a night - and so far we have done:
    1 - Insidious
    2 - Insidious: Chapter 2
    3 - Oculus
    4 - The Conjuring

The last one was easily the creepiest, but again, in true Hollywood tradition, ´creeped-up´ for modern audiences, e.g. house was nothing like the real farmhouse in Rhode Is., the Annablle doll is nothing like the real doll, all the usual movie-making effects for a horror were in place re: lighting, sound, editing, pace, etc

Maybe it is true that adults dont get scared...because they´re adults.

    ALL HALLOW'S EVE

Some guy on a military flight put this up on his computer and I kind of watched it over his shoulder. Totally creepy and scary and was one of the better horror flicks I've seen in a while. There's also a follow up but I haven't seen part 2 yet.

    The Conjuring 2

I had high hopes for this, as I thought it was going to be based on The Warrens investigation into the happenings at 122 Ocean Avenue, Amityville.
    But no.
It´s a Wan-Fictionalization of the bogus Enfield Poltergeist \ Haunting in North London in 1977.

No idea. I went in blind.
I knew that at the end of The Conjuring, the Warrens had a message saying there was something kikcing off in Long Island (The Amityville Case), and this new movie started off as such.
Then, 10 mins in, it switched to Enfield, North London for that ridiculous ´Got-Four-Kids-Want-A-New-Home-So-Lets-Make-Shit-Up´ poltergeist hoax.

I cant believe James Wan went with this story for a movie...

I mean, come on...does this look like the Hodgson girl is levitating byforces:

And her siblings are clearly acting on orders to appear ´scared´...
