While we're on the topic of Jeff Goldblum movies, The Fly is still fucking amazing to watch.

It will be shit cause there isn't a strong leading character....the black kid is a shit actor(who will do it for his daddy)....Hemsworth is shit....Goldblum will stutter n mumble his way thru it......but after watching the trailer over and over every time I go to the movies....I'm watching it....it's only $12-18

Don't need to see the film now after seeing that incredibly long trailer which practically shows you everything that happens in the film.

Whoa! That is how much you pay for a movie ticket? That is insane! Every time I pay $6.45 at the spanking brand new Carmike Cinemas in Melbourne FL I feel I am being ripped-off! I mean, I can watch the same new releases in the very nice Cinema World 16 in Melbourne for less than that...even for the freaking 3D movies!! And as a senior I pay only $5.00. :goodnews:

Honestly I still need to be impressed by IMAX 3D. I watched 'Star Trek: Into Darkness' in IMAX 3D and couldn't enjoy the movie as my eyes (and head) kept moving side to side to catch the whole thing. The latest IMAX 3D I watched was 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' in December and while I liked the movie, I did not thought the 'experience' was worth the $14.

But in my favorite cinemas the fixed price for admission for all shows (including 3D) is $6, but kids and seniors is $5.

True and yet Alien still looks creepy, claustrophobic, grimy....and way ahead of its time.

    I read some early spoilers:

Apparently the aliens will have some upgraded Norton antivirus protection this go round so it looks like we could be in trouble.

I also read that the aliens will unleash some alien mutants mixed with human DNA and they will claim that they come from France.

It wasn't bad...middle of the road movie...nothing GREAT...but it could've been a whole lot WORSE.

Absolutely NO emotions in this movie.....

Unfortunately for the invaders they didn't renew the Norton subscription by the expiration date.

:baa:It won't make any dent on 'Finding Dory' on its second week. If it opens above $50 million I'll be amazed.

Perfect summation. Fairly entertaining fare but absolutely nothing to make you think or care much for anyone involved. Made the first thing look like an emotional rollercoaster.

Brother in law who gets us tickets at our nearest cinema says it has been an absolute flop. We were there this afternoon and, on a summer Saturday afternoon, there were less than 50 people watching.

Same with the first film were all the characters were two dimensional. The only one I cared a bit was for Vivica Fox's dog when he was running from the fireball.

The first one felt more 'something'. It was touch more dramatic. You felt that, stupid though it was, the whole place might be in peril. All I thought watching this was that every set piece was a waste of time. They spent an hour showing how much humans had prepared and then rendered it all redundant in 45 seconds. Cities were wiped off the map but it was all a bloodless, emotionless affair. No-one seemed to care. The main protagonists were annoying - I actually wanted them to get brutally killed. And everyone acted stupidly, especially the aliens who acted even more stupidly than before. There was nothing remotely credible about the whole thing.

It was essentially 1 3/4 hrs of plotless CGI battlescenes. If thats your thing, you'll enjoy this. It's plotless and hollow, though. At least the first build a narrative (or, more truthfully, stole one from War of the Worlds) before laying waste to the world.

In the first film the president and the first lady were loosely based on Bill & Hillary Clinton. Were the 'Obama & Michelle' of this film any heroic here too?

In this film the president is a FEMALE......a strong, beautiful independent BLACK FEMALE PRESIDENT...so yes she will intimidate your little conservative asian member.

I think I'll skip this completely. No movies, no downloads not even movie channels.

Reviews are horrible. Critic, and fan reviews alike are horrible.

Nope! I'm skipping it. MAYBE I'll watch it if it ever comes to Netflix, just outta curiosity, but not going to the movies for it.

Don't believe the reviews. It's an AWESOME movie. Yes, it has his few cornie moments. But that doesn't change the fact that this movie is great. If this movie becomes a succes, we will get to see a third part, which will have inter galactic wars.

Rainmaker....STOP!!!...it's a 5/10...6/10 at most movie. The story was ass backwards....the FLY guy learn about the signal that one spaceship in africa was sending out...2 minutes later the aliens are attacking the moon...so what's the point of following that storyline....going to african chief territory....too see the ship....FUCK it....it has NO SOUL.....If I witness my mommas death..I won't be all cool and chill about it....NO EMOTION whatsoever!!!!...

and that scene when the secret service guy tricks the former president daughter...so her dad could get on the plane and make the ultimate sacrifice....TERRIBLE....CHEESie shit..a 10 year old
    would write....

If you don't go you aren't missing much. Rainmaker is out of his box if he really thinks this was a great movie. It wasn't.
