Thurman-Porter: Final Predictions

What's ironic about this is that I'm a Thurman FAN! He's a charismatic guy and he comes to fight (and he's a fellow lightskinned brotha). He's not a bad fighter either. But he's arguably the 3rd best welter in the world. I'll bet the farm on Spence beating him, and he and Brook is a 50-50 fight.

Only guy I'm confident Thurman will beat is Danny Slow.

Look at it a different way: does Thurnman get dominated by Forrest the way Shane was? Does Thurman struggle with Rivera the way Shane did?

 

Yes, Shane beat a prime De La Hoya but one off shit happens in boxing as there are always X factors to consider. The true test is consistency over good opposition. Only good Prime welterweight Shane has beaten is Oscar.

Look at this way: An OLD Shane dominated a young, prime Collazo. A PRIME Thurman struggled with, and damn near got KO'd by a shot to shit Collazo.

Worse. Thurman would have no answers for Forrest at all. His size and style would give Thurman hell and I don't see Thurman surviving the bodyshots that had Mosley screaming in pain.

Rivera was a tough crafty, guy that gave Shane a bit of a tussle in his first fight at welter but still got stopped.

What would Mosley do against ancient Julio Diaz, Diego Chaves or Soto-Karas? It wouldn't be pretty.

Wlad was never caught and Vitali's was due to a knee injury, right? While Vitali deserves to get slammed, Mosley's was for performance, as I recall, against DLH. Based on the amount of weight he had to cut, his stamina, and his physique, there can be little doubt Mosley cheated before DLH, too.

On the other hand, Thurman and Porter have never been caught and I don't know if either has ever been suspected other than the general cloud over pro sports, in general. Know differently?

Mosley was dumb. Thurman is smarter. Secondly, Shane's hand speed is just slugging hand speed and comprised mainly of meaningless flurries in spurts . Shane was never a deft counter puncher or had that sublime ability to quickly transition from defense to offense which is what made a guys like Jones hand speed more meaningful.

Shane had every physical advantage over Forrest too except height.
