Again,overreaction. It isn't even close to losing money when that much money has been made.

 

Just do the math: budget $250 million, marketing (worldwide) another $250 million. To earn its money back ($500 million) the film has to double of that amount or at least $1 billion. The film has grossed $870.2 million worldwide and very soon (maybe in a week or two) will end its run at theaters. That puts it at $130 million in the red tape for the studio. Had the film being cheaper (like 'Deadpool') that gross amount would have been phenomenal. But with its inflated price tag that is why you see heads rolling and jobs reassignments at the executive level of Warner Bros. A hit produces bonuses and pads on the shoulders, not having people removed from duties and switching responsibilities.

 

That's 500 million.

 

$500 million X 2 = $1 billion.

Films have to make twice their investment to break even since profits needs to be divided between the studio, distributor and movie theater owners. The studio gets the biggest slice of the pie on the first week, but then is 50/50 after that. Add to that the cost of movie prints and is almost a split in half regardless.

The Flash season 2 finale was incredible. You guys are missing out on a great show if you aren't watching.

I may check it out but I can't see what could be so interesting about a guy that fast . I mean he can't lose or ever be in jeopardy. I can't see how it can be anymore than a guy zooming around in a blur

 

All of this judgment before even watching a few episodes. He's not portrayed as invincible, believe me.

 

Buzz in Tinseltown is that Academy Award winner Brie Larson (The Room) is the frontrunner to seal a deal with Marvel Studios to land the lead role in the Captain Marvel movie. While I am sure she can deliver a great performance, she doesn't have the body of Ms Marvel/Carol Denvers. While not a stick like Gal Gadot, but far from the total meaty hotness of the character. Oh, well they might put her in some sort of armor and no one will notice.

It looks like Marvel and Brie Larson are about to make it official at any moment. Even some very professional photoshop pics of what Brie might look like as Captain Marvel started circulating today.

Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada has now indicated that Marvel Studios has the rights back for its first mutant, Namor The Sub-Mariner -- a character whose film/TV rights Kevin Feige previously called "complicated." Appearing on the Fat Man on Batman podcast, interviewer Kevin Smith asked Quesada, "...The same people that own Iron Man, own the Sub-Mariner?" Quesada replied, "I can't speak for studios...As far as I know, yeah we do. It’s not at Fox, it’s not at Sony...Yeah." As for the possibility of seeing Namor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sometime soon, Quesada said, "I cannot confirm or deny, sir."

However, there is already some buzz that Academy Award winner Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu might be the helmer of a Submariner film that could face-off against DC's own AQUAMAN film!!!

AND there is already an actor begging for the role, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles own Brian Tee. The Asian-American actor states that Namor has always been his favorite comicbook character and he knows he can portray the Submariner faithfully. An Asian actor in the role will be nice. I always have envisioned Namor played by an Asian instead of a Caucasian actor.

If Marvel decides to go with a caucasian actor, then Teen Wolf's Tyler Hoechilin must be considered.

 

Bad news...at least for me...ABC cancelled Marvel's Agent Carter. Not only that was a very good show with a strong female character, but now I'll miss my weekly doses of Hayley Atwell. I mean...THOSE BOOBS!!

 

Boobs are nice, face is average.

 

I dig her face too precisely because she looks like girl-next-door pretty and not the exotic beauty of every tv show.

 

They need to start making these guys read for the parts and then select the best performer rather than hand selecting guys before even seeing if they connect with the character. That way maybe they'll find a guy as perfect in character as Downy Jr or Heath Ledger was.

 

For the most part the MCUs casting has been excellent .

 

True, Marvel do brilliant casting and no moreso than Chris Evans as Captain America- looks \ height and he packed on a load of muscle for the character.
Whoever they get to play the Sub-Mariner has to be 6´2" and 250lb.

Whoever this nobody that panchy has mentioned is...has zero chance.

 

I kind of disagree with them if they pick anorexic Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. I mean in the Marvel universe full of babes, Ms Marvel has always been the hottest. Brie Larson might deliver a convincing performance, but I can't buy her chicken legs as ms Marvel.
