He knocked vargas and mayoga old cold with single shots and stopped margarito. He hit at least as hard as oscar

Hoya knocked out Mayorga much sooner and hurt him with regularity and did it first and he knocked out Vargas long before Mosley did

To further bolster this... Hoya knocked out Leija in 2, three years before Mosley stopped him in 9

Dlh clearly was a bigger puncher than Mosley. Mosley has a good amount of impressive KO's and one punch KOs for a guy that's not considered a real puncher's puncher but I never considered him to clearly hit harder than Cotto. He was more explosive.

If Williams could effectively "fight tall" he would have been damn near unbeatable (and boring) at those weights, but he would give up his height and reach and became a volume puncher. His defense was atrocious for a world class fighter. It made his fights more fun to watch, but it was just terrible. Extra bad against southpaws, but bad enough that Mosley would find him easy to tag.

The speedy slugger beats the tall volume puncher here.

not so sure that DLH really hits harder than Mosley. I'd say they are pretty equal

Hoya had more natural power. Mosley generated his by loading up a lot.

For one shot power, Oscar's hook was more powerful than Shane's right hand.

But Shane had pop in either hand, whereas Oscar couldn't wipe his ass with his right hand.

People underrestimate how much that shortcoming hurt Oscar.

The fact that he was a one handed fighter is a big reason why he'd lose to many of the greats.

  8. Their common opponents have always maintained that Oscar hits harder. regardless of that it's clear to see anyway.
