Battle of the potential closet homos.

In their primes at 147, who wins?

Seeing each other sweaty and half naked is enough to make them both call off the fight and agree to a "private" battle in the shower.

Fag jokes aside, Curry by late TKO in a pretty one sided fight. Cotto's methodical style is made for Curry. Mig gets countered to death and cut to ribbons. Curry in 9 or 10.

Yeah, Curry is rangy enough to catch him with those deadly counters at range and can still bang as well as Cotto inside. UD or late tko

No he isn't a live dog. Curry was better at every single facet of boxing. The styles don't favor Cotto either. He wasn't an unpredictable, awkwardly quick guy like Honeyghan. Miguel's a methodical fighter without huge power who's always taken time to set up his attack.

Curry was rangier, quicker, more skilled, more talented, more powerful. He was physically stronger too. Cotto gets picked apart on the outside, and out-fought/pushed back on the inside.

You have a tendancy to overrate Curry and Underrate Cotto. The guy lost to Rene Jacquot ffs, he was very in inconsistant

That's like saying Benitez was overrated cause he lost to Matt Hilton.

Curry was consistently dominant from 82-85. During that period of time, he was at a level Miguel Cotto was never on.

Cotto's defining win at 147 was a razor close decision over a past prime Mosley.

Curry's two clear victories over a prime Starling alone are more impressive.

Curry was better at Mig at everything. And the styles also favor Curry.

If he was better than cotto at every facet of boxing, he wouldnt have struggled with the korean bum he won his title against. Cotto would have gutted this guy. Cotto is probably one of most underrated fighter. Guys are acting like he his a bum. Only guys that dominated him his pac, he was competitive against every other fighter he faced. And he destroyed a lot of very good fighters (quintana, judah, martinez). If cotto fights like he did agaisnt Mayweather, he will have gives curry a hell of a fight, and he might even ko his fragile ass. And while i dint want to go into this debate, i dont see why Curry was supposedly shot against Jacquot. He looked as good as ever iin his fight before against Rossi. But then, Curry is the kind if guy who has an excuse for each and everyone of his losses (weight drained against honeyghan, lucky punch against mccallum: shot against jacquot)

He didn't struggle against that Korean guy... jesus christ:mut:

Guy suffers a flash knockdown and spends the rest of the fight easily beating the guy and it's a "struggle"

Curry WAS weight-drained against Honeyghan... Christ, do some research... you sound like mikE

Anyway, Curry beats the fuck out of Cotto

He struggled mightily against the Korean... He was dropped, doubled over by body punches, and given a rough fight. Having said that, Cotto did a lot more than struggle with Ricardo Torres and he was farther in his career than Curry.

What rounds did you have the Korean winning outside of the round where he scored the knockdown? I had Curry winning that by 9 points... Not even sort of close

I don't think Curry's chin was anything great, but even still, I think he'd have no problems handling Cotto's power and he'd beat the holy hell out of him, I think.

The hand speed advantage would be telling, as would the power. Curry had impeccable timing on his punches (McCrory KO is a great example). I just don't think Cotto has enough in his game to threaten him with. He's undersized here. He's not as quick. And his own chin isn't great. Curry would definitely hurt him with that combination of speed and power.

Maybe Cotto wins a couple of rounds early on, but I think once the big punches start landing, he'll go into a retreat and end up getting stopped mid to late rounds.

honestly, you have to know nothing about boxing to think Curry din't struggle against the Korean bum (I wouldn't say mightily though). He was put on rubbery legs in the third, doubled over by a body punch in the 10th, floored in the 7th ( lol at calling it a flash kd. He only threw a jab in the rest of the round afterward (about a minute and a half)). Did he the Korean catch a beating? Yes. But, he also did his share of damage

And this against a guy who was nothing special and had no amateur career.

Curry always showed some incredible flashes, but he has way too many flaws to consider him a lock against Cotto. If Curry was as good as he sometimes looked like, his best wins wouldn'T be over a very ordinary Mccrory (well, I guess you could say Starling)

Yeah, that pedestrian win over McCrory... Did he struggle in the one round McCrory managed to stay conscious? Better figure that into the calculation of Cotto's chances

I GUESS you could say the two victories over Starling... I suppose you could include those
