As just a casual basketball fan, became a fan of Duncan at turn of millenium, awesome career and bowing out at right time

Greatest player of the generation retired today.

It's sad too because there truly is no one like him in todays game. No Kobe to his MJ so to speak. Hes like a time relic preserved in the depths of time and will likely not be seen again in years.

so does this vault irving into the top 82 players in the league?

Karl Anthony Townes has SOME Duncan in Him, Both On AND Off the Court, in REED's Opinion...Jahlil Okafor's FOOTWORK on the Low Block is Reminiscent of Duncan Also...

towns is more advanced offensively than duncan was at the same age.

Farewell to Timmy. Perhaps the greatest power forward of all time. Truly CONSISTENT. And definitely the greatest San Antonio Spur of all time.

    I don't know how they'll replace him.

Seeing how Tim was playing center at Wake Forest at the same age you are right lol

Attending college for 4 years and playing 19 seasons in the NBA is something we will never see again, that's for sure.

  9. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

yes exactly. towns is further along than a sophomore duncan was. offensively, not defensively.

    Okafor's problem is his defense.

Okafor is trash and the sixers already have been looking to dump him. He can score on the block but that aint even really a skill in high demand at this point in time in the nBA.

Comparing a guy in the pros to a guy in college isn't a good one but ok.

  13. REEDsART

    REEDsART MATCHMAKER

Nah, Okafor Can Play...Philly's Front Office Has Been HeadScratching at Best...Them Trying to Unload Okafor Speaks More to How INEPT the Front Office Has Been, Than ANY Perceived Deficiencies in Okafor...

Despite the Recent Infatuation with "Small Ball", a Big That Can Score at Will, from EITHER Block, will Always Be in Demand.....

i said the same thing when towns was a freshman at kentucky compared to a freshman duncan at wake

Again, not a apples to apples comparison. Duncan didn't start playing basketball until he was in the 9th Grade whereas Towns was leading his HS team to state championships as a 9th grader. You can pick 50 big men that had better foot coordination than Duncan during his freshman season.

Jayson Williams was Tom Tolbert w/MORE Rebounds...Not Exactly in a Position to Bash Charles Barkley....

    Hersey Hawkins on Barkley

7 Time NBA champion Robert Horry.

Barkely was an overly talented clown and its fun to watch casuals expose themselves by uttering his name amongst the true greats.

Barkley couldnt even touch Dirk let alone Duncan, KG and Malone.

Hell, McHale has an argument over him.

The fact that he came into Philly with his fat ass and made our championship defense worse for every year he was there post Dr J and Moses(a legendary worker) to the point where a team that was a threat to win a title every year languished in mediocrity and even MISSED THE PLAYOFFS IN Sir Fatasses prime is all I need to know about him.

Chuck Daly and the Olympic team coaching staff seemed to think barkley was a better player than malone as evidenced by who was the starter

Durant's debut in Oakland as a member of the Warriors are $100 for standing room tickets. In an exhibition game against China.

Yep...Klay Said he AIN'T Sacrificing Shit...

Are YOU Naive Enough to Think there's Enough Basketballs to Accommodate the 2015-2016 Scoring Averages of the Splash Brothers, Draymon Green AND Kevin Durant???...Are You Naive Enough to Think ANY Of Them will Be Fine w/Single Digit Shots in Games???...Somebody's Scoring Output will SUFFER, Unquestionably...

Like REED Said Months Ago, THE LAST Thing Golden State Needs is a 6'11 PERIMETER Player...

So Unless Durant's Going to ALTER his Game to Fit, ie., Taking FEWER 3's and Getting More Done Down Low, it's HARD Envisioning this Shit Working...But You'll See, When it's All Said and Done...

did you read what durant said?

bottom line here reed, are you suggesting you dont think a healthy golden state squad will win the title next year? go ahead and put it on record if so
