I've heard that the song Love TKO is a double meaning for love and addiction. It makes sense if you look at the lyrics. It was written by Cecil Womack. I don't know if he had drug problems, I know his brother Bobby did.

    speaking of which:

Funny this came just after Hut's post about Damon and his collaboration. Bobby Womack recorded a song with Gorillaz a few years back.

It's a great song. Unfortunately it has been permanently ruined for me by his cunt of a nephew after this abomination of a cover:

(Remember when this twat was being heralded as "the British Will Smith"?)

I had no idea it was him even after listening to it a few times; its track 8 or 9 on tony allen's album and i had no incling that he'd deign to slum it so low. I'm thinking it started as a drunken boast: 'I'm so great I could make a collaboration with anyone work! Yes, anybody! Don't believe me?! Name the shitest person you can think of!'

Ha! Don't act like you didn't recognise Albarn's dulcet tones...

By the way, I heard when visiting BBC Bristol at the very height of his fame in 1992, Kurt Cobain was asked what his favourite current British song was, at which point he pulled out his guitar and played the chorus of 'There's No Other Way' by Blur :bears:. Isn't that the best thing ever, Hut? Isn't it just?

Have you seen the film "Over The Edge" from 1979? It was one of those movies that was considered a piece of shit when it first came out and then became a cult classic. Cobain said it was the inspiration behind writing "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Other bands have written about it as well. Cobain was also a fan of the Shags. Classic story behind them.
