As important as the things you've mentioned is the fact that they need to focus on the right things. For example, the Ali film had good fight choreography and casting, and acting, but fell short because the narrative was awful and they just glossed over the first Frazier fight which was criminal

I'll wait for Netflix. If they switched the fights with Leonard though for a rocky type story, I actually think that's a genius idea.

Other than that there's nothing particularly exciting about Duran's life that could fill a movie.

The guy basically grew up in the street following a weird pied piper style hustler urchin around. No mas is probably the biggest fall from grace moment in live sports then he came back to win world titles. If Micky wards life is movie worthy The Duran's certainly is. Besides....how many horses have you knocked out?
