Ths are just 2nd-tier movies and already better than or as-good-as anything from your list
Your problem with the 1990s is that a lot of them were opening-up the hideous CGI \ action drama.
The 70s had too many genres and succeeded at all.

 

Most of your list is fucking big-budget popcorn shit aimed at an audience who´s IQ was seriously starting the decline as to what it is now: Millenial fuckwits with a short attention span.

The 70s had far more terms of talent and imagination cos the studios were at such a shit low-point, they let all the new and up-and-coming directors and actos have free-reign and total control over the movies they were making.

The 1990s just started off the modern-day disease of making movies for money.

Anyway, the 90s is clearly better, Godfather 1 and 2 notwithstanding. Every successive decade gets better when it comes to films, IMO.

 

I'm not a real big movie fan by any means, but the 70's blow the 90's away when it comes to movies, at least the ones I like. If I'm watching a movie, it's probably either a comedy or a horror, and those genres were much better in the 70's. Then add in movies like Rocky, Star Wars, etc.

70s and early 80s moves crack me up because this was before America became wrapped in political correctness. So much of that stuff wouldn't fly these days.

Take "The Bad News Bears." This was a KIDS movie at the time (1976.)

The coach is always drunk or drinking (including drinking and driving with kids in the car.) There are kids cussing, using racial and homophobic slurs throughout the movie. And the coupe de grace. Amanda and Kelly (I believe they were supposed to be 11 & 12 at the time) playing air hockey for sex. That was the bet. If she beat him (which she did) he had to join the Bears's baseball team. If he won he got to fuck her. Again, this was a kids' film.

Caligula likes it cos it ties-in with his like of Britpop. Same for Hut (who knows as much about movies as he does music), Jimmy and Slice: all Britpop-90s-boys.
