I am 80s kid all the way. Had I not lived in Japan from '96-'99 I would have missed Britpop altogether (save Oasis) and as it was I caught the tail end of it. As it is now I like Osais, about half of Blur's songs and a handful of songs from Suede and Pulp. The Lightning Seeds kind of got lumped in there and they're one of my favorite bands but I never saw them as Britpop.

Trainspotting is a grim film. That doesn't make it bad. Nil By Mouth is my favorite of all time and it's even worse.

Any normal, sane person....would never have Nil By Mouth as their favoruite movie.....unless there is some deep-meaningful reason.
It´s harrowing to watch one time....

90's. A lot of those 70's movies don't hold interest for people seeing them for the first time.

PC has nothing to do with it. The funniest comedies from the 70's are amusing at best now. Same with the action movies. The dramas aren't old timey like the 50's where you just accept that's how the movies were. They're modern enough to be judged by modern standards but mostly too dusty and boring to watch for 2 hours.

70% of the 90s films Antonio listed are either so-so or just plain awful films that got trashed by critics and audiences.

Most 80s films are unwatchable now. There were a great deal of fun films but the standard is better now. Films no longer rely so heavily on a cheesy soundtrack and silly comic relief.

    make a list!
they're different kinds of movies...the B grade, light viewing but re watchable kind that you've seen dozens of times but will still check them out if they're on tv

i've seen Predator and The Three Amigos way more times than Shawshank Redemption or Last of the Mohicans etc

    i'll start it:
    Predator
    Die Hard
    Three Amigos
    National Lampoon
    Back to the Future
Empire Strikes Back, and Jedi too
    Aliens
    Indiana Jones
    Karate Kid
    Trading Places
    Coming to America

    unwatchable??? :nono: :nono:
this was off the top of my head!

Absolutely the most rewatch value. I don't get how that quality is so overlooked. Yeah Citizen Kane is a great movie but I've watched Predator literally 100 times and Citizen Kane once.

Maybe I'm not a normal sane person. I probably watch way less movies than anyone here. I only watch about 5-10 movies a year and most are indie films. I've seen "Nil By Mouth" about 100 times and "Trainspotting" and "24-Hour Party People" about 50 times each. Those are the kind of films I like. I don't like most mainstream movies.

You'll never see my wasting a dime on any Star Wars/Star Trek/ Battlestar Galactica or any kind of silly shit like this. They'll put me to sleep. Or even worse. Any superhero movie of any kind. How the hell can a grown ass man go and actually enjoy a movie about some unrealistic comic book bullshit. And action movies like Fast and the Furious, or anything with Arnold. HORRIBLE!

TBH I am baffled he is arguing the case of the 90's films now as historically in old movie threads Antonio was always the #1 crusader of the 70's being the GOAT decade of excellency in films.

Panch was the one talking out his ass. The second list I posted were not awful or bashed by critics. You have posted literally less than 20 movies. I have posted close to 200 quality fucking movies. I'm fucking destroying you.

90s has the highest quantity of quality movies ever. 70s has some all time greats, no doubt. But the sheer volume of excellent movies the 90s put out, just destroys it.
