Garcia could stun Ike with well timed punches but he's not going to stop him. Ike walks through him for 7 or 8 rounds. If Garcia is still around he can give a good account of himself but I can't see him winning. He's too small and doesn't have the pure concussive power that's needed to give Ike pause.
I don't agree with that at all. I'd say Philips right hand was more powerful than Garcia's hook. What solid chinned guy has Garcia ever stopped? Khan has the chin of a terminal cancer patient. Vince Philips stopped a young Tszyu, who previously was thought to have an iron chin, and also battered around the tough chinned Mickey Ward. There's really no evidence of Garcia's left hook being a potent punch, unless you're impressed by his brutal KO of the legendary Rod Salka.
Bullshit. The Philips of the Tszyu fight beats the Hell outta Garcia. That win shits on Garcia's defining performance against Matthysse, considering 1. Tszyu was leagues better than Matthysse and 2. It was a convincing stoppage, not some competitive, but clear decision. I mean, it's not like Philips wouldn't have KO'd Khan also. A sober, trained Vince Philips was a far more talented fighter than Garcia.
