Looks so strange.

 

Looks shitty! If you are familiar with the anime film you will recognize some things here, BUT also will see how crappy was the decision to whitewash the main character with a Caucasian actress that looks ridiculous in that wig.

 

Of course its shitty...its got Scarlett Johannsen in it. :dunno:

 

first full length trailer looks more promising and more faithful to its source. Still...whitewashing lead role...

Reminds me a bit of Blade Runner.

 

Only 42% on RT.

 

A movie that could ahd should have been a lot better...but instead just ends up dragging along and you think ´I dont want my money back, but I could be watching (or doing) something better instead´

´Shell´ is a pretty apt word at describing what this movie is.
Lack of plot, underdeveloped characters, main point of movie missing, etc, it has three people writing the screenplay and five production companies (two of them Chinese, so go figure)
Movies like this rely on visuals too, which are pretty good if not very modern Blade Runneresque...but they dont bring anything new that havent been seen before.
(plus, I don´t like Scarlett Johanssen ....in anything, really. Soemthing about her look and attitude that irritates me.)

Basically, it´s Blade Runner + RoboCop ÷ Johnny Mnemonic

A little controversy surrounding this one in that the lead is a white actress instead of a Japanese one.

HOWEVER

A Japanese actress was NOT going to sell this film....certainly not the way Scarlett would. Sadly, money talks, BS walks.

Secondly, Japanese anime characters look Caucasian anyway...
