January 20 2001 (post-victory vs Diego Corrales): Floyd Mayweather (25-0): "I would like to fight Prince Naseem, hopefully we can meet at 128 (Lbs) or he can come up to 130 (Lbs), we can fight or I can fight the winner of Casamayor v Freitas, but I really want to fight Prince Naseem..." Larry Merchant: "Prince Naseem isn't going to fight you, after he saw this, it ain't gonna happen" And sure enough, 4 months later, Hamed went onto be horribly exposed by Marco Antiono Barerra, the latter using basic boxing skills and Hamed´s ego was crushed and he retired in Arabic-Terrorist shame a year later. HOWEVER!!! This is FightBeat Mythical Matchups....what happens if he didnt face Barrera and took on Mayweather at both 128lb and 130lb. Vs
Naz wouldn't have gotten "schooled". This isn't an old, passive Floyd we're talking about. Naz would have gotten fucked up and knocked out. Too damn small, and outgunned in every way. Floyd would walk him down and destroy him.
Floyd was too good, especially at 130 where Hamed's power is untested. Pretty Boy would have destroyed him one sidedly.
Hamed would pose and I would pay $99.99 to see him get fucking clowned. Badly. It could well be Corralles all over again. Except worse.
Speaking of Corrales, that's another nice slaughter. I would have paid to watch Chico splatter Hamed's brains on the canvas.
Naseem has a chance if it was a 128 lb. same day-weigh in. Other than that the Barrera fight would seem like a picnic
GOD Couldn't Have Created a WORSE Matchup for Hamed, Stylistically, than Floyd Mayweather... Bigger, Taller, Loooooonger, Stroooonger, Faster, More Skilled, More Disciplined, Higher Ring IQ, Higher Level of Conditioning...And On Top of All That, Floyd Would Be AMPED to Look Impressive Against an HBO Darling, the Way he Was Against Gatti... Hamed Gets Bounced Off the Canvas SEVERAL Times, In Route to a STOPPAGE Loss, or an Extremely Wiiiiide UD... REED:mj:
Hamed gets his ass kicked. Whether it's Hamed in 2001 or Hamed of a few years earlier who had sharper reflexes and Ingle in the corner, Mayweather still beats him comprehensively. Hamed still had his technical flaws and bad habits. Medina was hitting him consistently with straight right hands. Mayweather would land it over and over again until Hamed gets stopped or goes into a shell and drops a wide UD. Floyd was bigger and better.
