In Sly's Floyd-world, Canelo is all of a sudden a defensive savant. In the REAL world, Duran was light years ahead of Ginger defensively. Canelo would be made to miss consistently, and countered to death.
Mayweather was physically stronger than Duran. Duran hit harder and was more aggressive but powerful and aggression are not the same thing as strength. Tyson was more powerful than Holyfield but Holyfield was stronger. Lennox Lewis is the strongest ever heavyweight as well as possibly being the most powerful. Corrales was more powerful than Mayweather but Mayweather was physically stronger than him. Floyd was stronger than most of his opponents actually. It's not blind nuthugging, it's a fact. Mayweather was a strong motherfucker. To the untrained (xplosive) eye, he looks weak because he was so defensive but let that motherfucker advance on you or push you off him and you saw the strength.
Duran would have tried that crazy animalistic greasy haired shit with Floyd and Mayweather would have pushed him off with the forearm followed by sharp lead right hands. Duran would be dismayed, discouraged, dishonoured and disillusioned. Don't you remember how Floyd was manhandling Mosley? Mosley was still a strong motherfucker if nothing else. Duran would have caused Floyd some "discomfort" every time Floyd laid on the ropes playing rope a dope, no doubt, but once Floyd decided to wake up and push him the fuck off and start nailing him, Duran would be bewildered, bedevilled, bedazzled and befuddled.
Whilst I don't agree that he was stronger than Duran, to be fair to Sly I remember quite a few of Floyd's opponents commenting on how surprised they were by his strength.
Sly just should have just said Floyd had underrated physical strength. But he had completely talk out of his ass and say that Floyd was stronger than Duran, which is just silly. Leonard was extremely physically strong at 147 (moreso than Floyd) and Duran bullied him. Duran had freakish physical strength, far more than Floyd.
