But... but... but... he beat Matthysse!!!!

I agree though. This is the Ranzany fight all over again. How sweet it would be.

Cuevas is too active, and will ko him in the latter rounds, unless Garcia lands the mother of all bombs

  5. Dunno much about Cuevas, personally, except he was bombed out by Hearns and was stopped by an old fat Duran. I'd assume he'd be too big for Garcia though.

    ILLUMINATI Roberto Duran

Cuevas by KO...as soon as he hurts Garcia...should be early...less than 4 rounds.

Cuevas was never the same after Hearns destroyed him. He was on the downside by time he fought Duran, but never the less, it was a masterful display Duran put on in that fight. Both offensively and defensively.

    But could he pull counter??????

  10. Against who? He was a Hispanic bum with a left hook who fought tomato cans.

  11. THIS is the material question.

That's bullshit. Guy wasn't ruined by hearns, and he wasn't on the downsize against Duran. In fact, the fight was very close and competitive till Duran caught him and Koed him. He's very overrated by some, but he was a better fighter than Garcia

Cuevas was highly regarded pre-Hearns from what I've read and seen of him. And rightfully so. He was no joke. Great power and great chin.

He'd be too powerful and strong for Garcia. And I cannot see it lasting more than 5 rounds.

Yeah. Im not falling for the convenient he was sbot excuse that some use to protect their favorite fighters. The hearns ko wasnt a prolonged beating nor a particularly hard ko. No way was cuevas ruined by it

  17. And you overrate all shit from that era.

You wouldn't know if I was overrating or underrating anything, you're unable to rate any of it. Period

You're no better than Tyson fans who claims that he was either pre-prime or post-prime in any fights in which he struggled or lost.

Pipino Cuevas was all power and zero defense. Couldn't fight backwards. Too dimensional. Easy prey for Danny 'swift' Garcia who will KO him sooner than he did to Khan.

  27. Watch tapes of this cuevas character. Someone post some of his youtube videos please. Pacquiao and Mayweather would have embarrassed him.

He consistently knocked out better fighters pre Hearns than he lost to post Hearns. Whether he was actually ruined by Hearns or just at the end of his run, he clearly wasn't as good afterwards.

After the Duran fight, sure he was past it, but I don't believe for a second he was past it againt Duran. He fought like he always did, and looked good until he got koed
