Agreed. Ali may not have had concussive power, but that speed and constant flurries of one-twos would do their damage. Plus, pre-exile Ali was so quick on his feet, darting in and out of range that Vitali would be lost trying to chase him.
This is beyond physical talent - both Klit sisters are too mentally weak to have dealt with Ali. There's a possibility that Vitali, after getting beaten up, just retires on his stool.
Ali vs. Vitali a good prolong beating by Ali....I don't think he will KO him though....bust him up good YES... Ali vs. Wladimir a good prolong beating by Ali....and a KO after round 6-7 is a very real posibility...not only was wald mentally weak...but his stamina was shit...and since it's MYTHICAL...they are both in their primes and at their best...ALI's name carry a whole lot of weight...wald would be overwhelm at being in the presence of GREATNESS...he might just go down inside of 4....mofo is that weak mentally...
First, it's an awful fight, Vitali wouldn't be stood there like Cleveland Williams getting hit for fun, and he wouldn't be walking Ali down, he never really tried to walk guys down. He'd drop his left, stand off, and wait for Ali to leap in. Ali wouldn't leap in. Ali wouldn't be able to hold his head like he did Frazier-Shavers-Norton-Wepner everybody else he fought and if Ali did lay on the ropes, Vitali would score. It;s a terrible matchup, and it goes the distance, and Ali wins, but it;s shit and nowhere near as impressive as people think.
ALi would not stop him, but would win a close, clear dec. The biggest difference (of many), would be footwork. I actually think Prime Wlad would be tougher.
I don't see it being close. Prime Vitali couldn't even beat an old unmotivated Lennox. Pre exile Ali is a whole different animal.
Ali is just better. That's not a slight on Vitali, who I actually think was a very good fighter, but Ali's speed would have given him fits. There is a way to beat Ali. Vitali isn't it. MTF
It'd be an awkward eyesore to watch but ultimately Ali's speed would be what wins it for him... No way is it some great looking one-sided beatdown... Vitali was not just huge, he was very tough, quite confident and had an awkward style based on judging distance intuitively much like Ali did, only at a slower pace and more flatfooted
Prime Ali Lands the CLEANER Shots, Wins the Majority of the Few Exchanges there'd Be and Uses his Wheels and Athleticism to Control DISTANCE... Uneventful, LOW Contact Fight, but Ali Wins Clearly... Mid to Late 70's Ali Makes for a More ENTERTAINING Bout...Ali Would Still LAND, but Couldn't EVADE Vitali as Much...Klitschko's SKIN Would Be a Major Factor...REED Would Favor This Version of Ali 7 Out of 10 Times... REED:hammert:
I am a huge Ali fan, but I think Vitaly batters him and stops him late. The size difference is too much and Vitaly is a very good fighter.
