I agree. If they don't get ktfo they school him. It's not that hard to imagine one of those hooks busting through or around the guard and things getting interesting though. Especially against lil Pac and the way he does a little peekaboo when he gets hit.

It would be naive to believe that Cuevas WOULDN'T land on Floyd. Floyd isn't the unhittable phantom that Sly and casual fans have made him out to be. FAR lesser fighters than Cuevas have hit Floyd.

The question is, would Floyd be able to take it? If so, he outboxes Cuevas. If he gets hurt, he doesn't recover. Cuevas was an A+ finisher.

Dont think is defenee is overrated. Floys is insanely overrated by some, but his defense is top notch. Not a lot of fighters had a better D than him.

But i agree that Cuevas will land on floyd, especially to the body. I could see him being too active and putting pbf in a shell

No fighter is "unhittable". But floyds defensive abilities are up there with the best.

Secondly Floyd has proven over the years to have a solid chin. Cuevas knocking out Floyd is one in a million. Basically, statistically impossible.

Floyd boxes rings around this cunt

He was definitely past it... Unless you believe Roger Stafford would've beaten him in 1978... He'd been fighting since he was 13 years old and came up the hard way, fighting in a style that is high risk/high reward... Guys like that have short primes... Becoming a champion at age 18, going on a dominating 4 year long tear and then getting blasted into infinity and losing your title at 22 will actually have a dramatic effect on you, believe it or not... I know, CRAZY speculation on my part based on nothing other than WHAT ACTUALLY OCCURRED in the guy's career

You say the same ridiculous type of shit about Benitez

Next you'll tell me Lionel Rose was in his prime at age 24

Absurdity. Guy wasn't past his prime at 23 years old. He didn't had that hard of a career, since he was dominating the fights he won during his reign, and a lot of them were early ko. I could put the Stafford loss on him being unmotivated, but not the Duran loss. He was ultra motivated for it, and was fighting a great fight and landing a lot on Duran, till he got caught and koed.

Again, you come back with the same lame Benitez comparaison. These are completely different situations since Benitez ruined his prime because of drug abuse. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of the little narratives you use to defend the fighters you like.

I'll stick with what actually happened in the guy's career and you can stick to revisionist nonsense, as per usual

I wouldn't like to live in your little fantasy world where a 23 yo guys who had a relatively easy career is shot.

Cuevas was really fast on his feet, and was strong enough to trap PBF on the ropes and unload. He wouldn't land a lot of clean shots, but these body shots and glancing blows would bother PBF. Also, while Cuevas reckless style would give a lot of counter punching opportunity for PBF, I don't think that at WW he has enough power to seriousy hurt Cuevas with one punch. This is not an easy fight for him, even if he's much better

Cuevas would be a warm up/stay busy fight for Mayweather on route to bigger things.

Floyd would be like "This aint no thing but a chicken wing on a string from burger king"

Cuevas would be pot-shotted to death.

The guys he was fighting at the beggining were either kids or bums. Not much different than what most amateurs were doing at the time since am boxing was very similar to pro boxing.

Manuel Medina turned pro at basically the same age, and had a much tougher career, yet he wasn't magically past it at 23 yo. Same thing for Barrera. Turning pro young is actually fairly common in Mexico, especially a few decades ago. Yeah, everyone ages differently, but still shows the ridiculousnees of you claim.

The ironic part is that I'm actually a pretty big fan of Cuevas, and I dislike Duran. But I have to be honest here. Him winning that fight had nothing to do with Cuevas being past it.

I read it and was quoting it but it disappeared... It was a substantially more strident post
