Doctor Strange casts a spells at the Box Office

Marvel Studios Doctor Strange easily took the top spot at movie theaters nationwide with a hefty $85 million. While that sounds low compared to 'Captain America: Civil War', this is a much better opening than last year's 'Ant-Man', 'Thor: The Dark World' and 'Captain America: The First Avenger'. Keep in mind that Doctor Strange is not among Marvel's best known characters. The movie is also doing very well overseas: it opened in China with $44 million (how the film manage to pass by China's policy of not allowing foreign films featuring witchcraft is amazing).So far the Marvel film has grossed $325 million worldwide which might end equaling or surpassing the final numbers for 'Thor: The Dark World' $644 million.

 

Yup. Even Strange and the others were not chanting spells ala Harry Potter, it was all done with hand movements.
