Nice right hand, Ward walked into it, shook it off and held for a bit.

hate for judges to reward that kind of crap fighting. that said, amazing that ward was actually involved in a entertaining fight .

HBO was really sucking Ward's dick tonight, and really driving that narrative of the comeback.

Only reason I can't call this a robbery is because Ward only won by a point. If the judges had Ward winning by several points, I'd cry murder.

HAVING SAID THAT.... I think Kov definitely deserved to win.

hard to think what kov should do different. i mean, you're not going to beat ward by a much bigger margin than 2 rounds. plus, he got a knock down. if that was not enough?

He needed to create distance and avoid Wards clinch. Those body shots helped wear him down and gave Ward points.

Hope we will get an immediate rematch. Will be interesting to see if Kovalev will be able to replicate his early sucees, or if ward, crafty as he is, will be able to adapt.

    I thought it was.

Kov landed the harder, more damaging punches all night, plus the knockdown. I also feel he dictated the tempo. He had Ward backing up most of the night with the jab, and outlanded him in power shots.

I had it 7 rounds to 5 for Kovalev.

Apparently Kovalev laid down the stink in last six rounds because he lost them on two of the judges scorecards

Controlled is too strong a word. In the second half of the fight Ward tended to land the cleaner punches and people seem to be ignoring Ward's body punching which was impressive

Kov won, but a close fight was always going to be scored for Ward...

I thought my scoring of 114-113 to Kov was being a bit generous to Ward, but a lot of rounds were pickems.
