  6. This film will disappoint.

Why? It has the battle we Star Wars fans always wanted to see: the first Rebellion victory against the Evil Galactic Empire and how Rebel spies manage to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon: the Death Star...plus it has fan favorite Darth Vader, who is more popular that all those geriatric actors tossed together in the Force Awakens. Plus there will be no sequel since the sequel was done on 1977 which means they can kill all characters for dramatic sake and plot development without restraining 'Oh we can't kill Rey cause she needs to be in the next three films...".

Even if it does suck will people even notice? The Force Awakens sucked but somehow hardly anyone seemed to notice...at the time. Other than maybe Avatar, I can't ever recall a film being so hyped up that people couldn't even tell that it sucked.

Speaking of Star Wars, you guys hear the news that Harrison Ford was bending Carrier Fisher over on the regular during the original Star Wars filming? She held that secret for 40 years and just revealed their affair for release of her book.

  12. Seriously? I never heard that. Good for him though, she was a babe back in the day. Aged dreadfully though

  13. Force awakens didn't suck. Third best stars wars film in the franchise. Many people seem to hate in Avatar but I have to assume it's because of the hype. Avatar was a very good film.

  14. Exactly this.

She was a teenager during the Star Wars filming and turned 19 upon its release. That means that married 36 year old Harrison Ford was almost tapping jailbait ass!

George Lucas watched 'Rogue One' and called director Garrett Edwards to tell him he like it a lot. I dunno if that is a good sign or not since Lucas wasn't amused by The Force Awakens and basically called it a rehashed of the first one. On the other hand many people agreed with Lucas criticism on The Force Awakens, so lets wait and watch the film.

  17. If Lucas likes it, that is more likely a bad sign than a good one.

  18. Almost? There's no almost. If she was legal she was legal.

  19. No. Why don't we not wait for Mucas' opinions being as he fucked the Star Wars franchise anyway (probably a good thing, actually) and decide for ourselves.

    I'll start.
I agree with SlugStaff: it's shit.

Your opinion is as valid as the feces I left in my toilet before flushing. Lucas disappointed many because his prequels were not what people were expecting, but they were not bad films by themselves. Heck, as I have said many times I rank 'Revenge of the Sith' above 'Return of the Jedi'. That film had many flaws but it is a very good film.

While most critics like Rogue One, others just plain hated it. Variety called it 'Star Wars 3.9' putting it in the same league as the original trilogy and 'gritty war film...the first Star Wars film for adults...' but others like Time magazine called it 'pedantic in its inoffensiveness'. Glimpsing at most of the negative reviews it seems that their main beef is that it is not as innocent and 'fun' as last year's 'The Force Awakens' and is more of a downer, something they apparently didn't want in a SW film. Currently it holds a 79% fresh at RT.

All that is is some attention seeking dope screaming "Look at me! I know words!"

I'd take their opinions about anything with a grain of salt.

  24. I actually agree with you.

Actually it sounds like all the people who liked the Force Awakens hate Rogue One, while all the people who like Rogue One, hated the Force Awakens. It seems TFAs fans didn't like Rogue One because apparently they're all a bunch pussies who need unrealistic war themed films where everyone lives except the bad guys and there weren't enough rainbows in the movie.

  26. For some reason I can't follow this post, although it interests me. perhaps your punctuation is bad.

I would like to understand the logic for why there is a trend for Force Awakens fans to dislike Rogue One and vice versa.

Is Rogue One back to the type of film of the George Lucas Prequels? I hope not. From the trailers it seems to take itself more seriously and be in the spirit of the first two films. I hope the strom troopers in Rogue one are normal people as opposed to jango Fett clones which was a monumental blunder by George Lucas to had to his resume of blunders..

From purely fans reviews it seems that most liked it, but don't think is a great film; while a minority think it IS a great film, so it was only the few paid critics who hated it. As for stormtroopers and rebels go, I keep hearing that while much is not explored it gives the impressions the stormtroopers kinda of are bored and hate their jobs which brings a little humanity to them while some rebels are not entirely goodie-two shoes and ocassionally do questionable things which also brings a welcomed realism from the clear cut good vs evil from the prior films.

  28. I hope all of the star wars films and TV shows to come continue to undermine Lucas' "vision" of the prequel abortions.

Lucas gave us the original trilogy for which we should be eternally grateful. Plus the prequels, while disappointing, gave us a bunch of Jedi & Sith lore which no one has ever complained about.

  30. I'm watching this movie now.

    'Underwhelming'.

(can't even be bothered to ruin it for Panchy or Sly either)
