Hey REED, the real judges don't get do overs and have to go by their first viewing and so did all of us. So stop cheating and just do your best. Besides I hate the idea of you torturing yourself by rewatching that shit just to get an accurate score card. Obviously there are worse fights to have to rewatch but at the same time this isn't exactly a fight of the year candidate either. So just put your damn score cards up already so we can REED it.

Uhm...don't get me started but that first Pacquiao Marquez fight was not close because of the rounds, but rather because Paquiao scored 3 knockdowns in the first rd. After that Marquez pretty much kicked Pacquiao's ass for the rest of the fight as he went on to get straight robbed at the end. I think you meant the 2nd Pacquiao - Marquez fight, because that son of a bitch was super hard to judge, just as the third one was IMO.

 

Yes, I believe I scored that round for Ward as well. Basically there were many rounds that were similar in nature and if you scored one for a certain fighter you'd score the others for that fighter. Kinda like Morales-Barrera 1 in that regard. People who scored round 5 for Barrera tended to score the entire fight for him...and those that scored round 5 for Morales tended to score the fight for him.

In the Ward-Kovalev fight...rounds 3,9 and 12 are indicators of how a person would have scored the fight. Does one pick Kovalev's aggression or Ward's more accurate punches?

 

All of the first three Pacquiao Marquez fights were tough to judge, but I was referring to the first fight in that either way wouldn't have been a robbery. I agree that Marquez scored more rounds...but IMO Marquez won 7 rounds to Pacquiao's 5, which gives Pacquiao the fight by a point because of the 10-6 opener. If you give Marquez 8 rounds to 4 then Marquez wins by a point. Pacquiao won AT LEAST 4 rounds and I can make a credible case for him winning two more...so again that fight wasn't a robbery.

In this fight Ward won anywhere from 5 to 8 rounds (same for Kovalev) depending on if you gave credit to his bodypunches, the fact he was wearing Kovalev out with them and the fact that in the last six rounds in particular, Ward was landing the cleaner shots. Kovalev was busier and more aggressive and of course always appeared more dangerous.

 

Never seen a fight like that but, hypothetically, score most the rounds even

 

Just to bolster my contrarian credentials with you - I scored the 5th for morales and had Barrera winning that by 4 ::

 

There are always outliers in any attempt at statistical analysis

 

i understand scoring is subjective and that observers have different preferences and biases which contribute to their perception of who won. that said, there is no fucking way ward won round 9. none.

Round 10 is a bigger issue for me. I don't understand how they had Ward winning that one.

A lot of compensating was going on for Ward having been dominated in the early goings.
