I don't think he's that much better than pachulia. Better rim protector and passer, yes. But he hardly fuckin played in the past 2 finals.

As for Durant, you want him to play closer to the basket. Ain't as easy to do that on a team like okc that has no one to really spread the court. Is he tweaking his game this year? Dudes shooting 57%

This is the NBA Bro...That's When Teams/Players REALLY Go For it, if Something SPECIAL is @ Hand, Which WAS the Case Monday Night...

Wilt Had 69 and His Squad was UP 19-20pts, Going Into the 4th...THEN he Had his Biggest Scoring Quarter of the Entire Game...

If BENCHING a Dude as Hot as Klay Was the Other Night is the NORM, the Collective Basketball Wooooooorld Needs to STOP Praising Wilt's 100pt Game...

In Terms of the Team Actually NEEDING It, Kobe's 81 is THE Best Scoring Performance in NBA History, in REED's Opinion...

its no longer a post up league. griffin dont even have a fuckin post game. against aldridge maybe they'll get lit up. we shall see. i wouldnt count on tony parker being healthy at the end of the year. if he is and can play 6 or 7 hard games maybe the spurs have a chance.

clippers have no chance. they are gettin blown out by 20, despite Golden state having missed several layups and wide open shots

    I consider Kobe's 81 to be a lot more impressive than Wilt's 100. Easily.

For exactly the reason you stated it - it was NECESSARY. The Raptors were beating the shit outta the Lakers for most that game. Kobe single handedly brought them back and won. Not single handedly in the figurative sense either. Kobe very literally beat the Raptors all by himself.

When Kobe got HOT, he was probably the most explosive scorer in history - maybe even moreso than Mike.

When separated them was simply that Mike was a lot more consistent. And Mike was a MUCH better playoff performer.

CP3 would have to go into God-mode for the Clippers to even force a long series with GS, let alone win.

And Neil, I don't think Parker has a long playoff series left in him. Dude shows flashes here and there, but he's pretty fuckin washed up.

He got overshadowed by Klay's 60, but John Wall dropped 52 the other night. He's carrying that Wizards team, but they're too dysfunctional to go anywhere.

You Say That as if the Clippers DIDN'T Give the Warriors a SHITLOAD of Early Points Off GRADE SCHOOL Ass Turnovers...Not Even Good Defense by Golden State, just STUPID Ass Passes...

That Being Said, the Clippers Shaved the Lead Down to Nearly 10 by Halftime...

No Doubt Bogut's a BETTER Post Presence and Defender than Pachulia EVER Will Be...

The Moment Bogut was DONE in the 2016 Finals, the Floodgates OPENED for Bron and Kyrie...You're Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeping on Bogut's Impact in the Overall TEAM Aspect, Bigtime...

Kevin Durant's Tall, Athletic and TALENTED Enough to "Get His" on ANY Portion of the Court...But He CHOOSES to Play On the Perimeter...Even as a 6'11 Player w/Above Average Hops, AND Sometimes to the Detriment of his Team, as Evidenced in OKC...

No Doubt, Kobe was a BETTER Pure Scorer than Jordan...

Not by Much, but BETTER...Along w/3pt Range, that's Really the ONLY Aspect Kobe Has Even a SLIGHT Advantage Over Mike...

Instead of IMPROVING the Team, they Held Out Hope that Durant Would Want to Come Home to DC...Motherfucker DIDN'T Even Pay them a Free Agent Visit, if REED's Not Mistaken...

Beyond That, Bradley Beal Just AIN'T that Dude...Billed as the "Next Ray Allen", Initially, Homey AIN'T Even Approached that Level...

No, I wouldn't say all that.

Kobe was a more EXPLOSIVE scorer than Jordan, or a comparable one at least.

Make no mistake - Jordan's the best pure scorer in history.

Kobe was far more likely to be contained than Jordan. Unless you physically assaulted Mike like the Bad Boys did, there was literally no way in the world of stopping him.

Could you picture a prime Jordan in the CURRENT NBA? With all these rules in place to benefit perimeter players. Christ Almighty, he'd be obliterating every defense in the league.

    Yup.

I remember when Beal was being compared to Ray Ray.

You damn sure don't hear those comparisons anymore.

Wizards need Cousins. A Wall-Cousins duo makes the Wizards a contender in the east. The two of them are best friends and wanna play together. Chemistry won't be a problem. Wall isn't built to be a primary scorer, and Cousins isn't built to be an alpha/leader. Put em together, and you have Cousins as the #1 option scorer, and Wall as the leader.

    Put it This Way...

If a Coach Said, "Look, I NEED You to Score 100 Tonight", REED Thinks PRIME Kobe Comes Closer To and/or Achieves that Feat MORE Times than Prime Jordan Does...

For Better or Worse, Jordan WOULD Pass, Rebound, Defend, etc., MORE than Kobe Would, in the Midst of that Game...Whereas Kobe Would Be SINGLE MINDED, ie., SELFISH Enough to Say "Fuck It", and Shoot Just about EVERY Time, to Achieve that Goal...

Michael Jordan was a Basketball Player Who Could Score...Kobe Bryant was a SCORER Who Could Play Basketball...

All you're saying is what we already know.... Kobe had MORE of scorer's mentality than Jordan.

Mike was better at it though. ESPECIALLY when it actually mattered.... playoff time!!

If my team is up against an all time great defensive team in a 7 game series, and I need one of these guys to carry my team past them..... no coach or GM alive is gonna pick Bryant. As I said, he was more likely to be contained/slowed down than Jordan.

I'm pretty sure Kobe's career high in the PLAYOFFS is only 50. Almost positive of that.

Jordan had a PLETHORA of 50+ playoff games, and of course, the 63 point game against the Celtics in the playoffs.

He was far more unstoppable a scorer than Kobe WHEN IT MATTERED.

    agREED on a Wall-Boogie Combo...

They'd Be PERFECT Together....NEITHER is Getting the Level of Attention their Talent WARRANTS, and it Makes the Most Sense for Boogie to Go to DC...

Not Sure Who's Up for Free Agency or When, but that Shit's Worth Watching...Wall-Cousins AUTOMATICALLY Vaults the Wizards into the Eastern Conference Finals Mix...

Jordan dropped 69 in a much more physical era that was built around big men.

I think he DAMN SURE coulda had a 80+ game in the current era.

I'm pretty sure (not positive) that Cuz can walk this off season. And I'm sure he will... the Kings are going NOWHERE. Their 2nd best player is Rudy Gay, a guy who never lived up to expectations. Cuz and Gay have never had chemistry, and Gay isn't a guy who impacts a team much.

Please Don't Forget, Kobe Played WITH Better Scorers than Jordan EVER Played with...By a Sizable Margin...

Shaq and Gasol Outscored ALL of Jordan's Teammates...Nonetheless, Kobe STILL Has a Very Strong Case for Being the BETTER Pure Scorer...In Fact, the Degree their Teammates Scored SEALS it...

We'll have to disagree. Cause to me, Kobe was simply more one dimensional. Mike was a more willing passer and facilitator, but make no mistake.... when he WANTED to "turn it on" and go into 100% scoring mode, he was better at it than Bryant.

"Like I said before", prime Jordan (late 80s/early 90s) in the 2006-2016 NBA would IMO have an 80 point game under his belt.

BTW, I'd have to check the percentages, but I dunno if Kobe was a "better" 3 point shooter than Jordan. He just shot a helluva lot more of them.

When I try to think of the ONE thing Kobe had over Jordan, I can only think of one thing.... he had nicer handles.

But then again, Jordan's hands were A LOT bigger than Kobe's, and as such he had more control of the ball, despite his handles not being as fancy.

I once got into a debate with a cat who tried to tell me that Kobe was more ATHLETIC than Jordan.... which I find absurd. Mike had a higher vertical, more hang time, better body control, and was faster/quicker.

Last post regarding Kobe-Jordan, and this is where you REALLY see the difference in talent.... Kobe was more dedicated and obsessed about the game than Mike. Kobe literally LIVED AND BREATHED basketball. While his teammates (Shaq as an example) would be out partying and goofing off... Kobe would be practicing or reviewing game film.

Jordan on the other hand.... he didn't live and breathe basketball. That muthafucka would drink his ass off, smoke a couple of cigars, gamble all night... wake up hungover, and still drop 50 a couple hours later.

Jordan in the present day landscape of Basketball would be fucking insane. All those times we see that shithead Harden go to the line. Michael would be going to the line to line for 1 shot instead of 2, because he'd be finishing up the play instead of flopping around trying to get a call before he even got touched. Jordan wasn't a great 3 point shooter, but he also played in an era he didn't have to be, so he probably didn't practice it that much. The small sample size of 95-96 shows he did shoot 43%, so he was capable if it was needed. His 3 pointers were mostly ....and 1's.

I'd also love to see Michael playing defense on Harden. He'd make him want to cut that fucking beaver pelt off his face.

Prime Jordan today would utilize the three more, but he still wouldn't go crazy with it. For the most part he'd remain the master of the mid range, and of course, he'd get to the rim at will.

He got to the rim at will in the most physical defensive era with REAL rim protectors at the basket.

He'd dominate today in epic proportions.

Prime Bird in today's game.... now he'd utilize the three a lot more.

When some reporter brought up Clyde Drexler's better 3 point shooting abilities, MJ responded with "He's a better 3 point shooter than I choose to be."
