The overall consensus is that this is the perfect time for young AJ to get in the ring with Klit. Do you guys feel the same? Come April, wald pussy will be 41 with his last fight against Furry bollocks in November 2015. Compare that to Joshua who is on the crest of a wave, knocking out all before him left, right and centre. Is AJ too young, too fresh and too beastly for Klit?
I think so yes. I realise I am a Klitschko-apologist who is making excuses for the clutching pussy, but at 40+ and with fucking seventy fights he isn't what he once was. If this were the Wlad of 09 who already was ultra-careful but also had his quickness and snap, I'd pick him based on what we have seen of Joshua. At this point, I can't see him winning
same... He'd be the underdog if he was the same as in the Fury fight. But he seems to get more unprecise and rusty from fight to fight and at this age such a long lay-off can't be good.
Why keep calling one half of the fight a pussy when he is 41 and has, unlike others, across the entire sport, demonstrated a desire to make every single available fight :dunno:
I'd favor Wlad in his prime to win this. And in all honesty, he should in fact be COMMENDED for choosing to face a young, powerful champion who has virtually demolished everyone in his path and appears to be getting better and better. At age 41, I think Wlad has slowed down a lot. His reflexes will be tested like they haven't been in a while with AJ constantly barreling at him with pressure and quick 1-2 combinations. Wlad is still crafty enough to go the distance, but he'll take some punishment in the process.
The time is right for Joshua. I agree with the consensus that this version of Wlad can't pull the trigger. I didn't realize Joshua was just as tall as Wlad. Couple that with his speed advantage I favor Joshua. Not due to what I think he is, but what Wlad no longer is. Even during his prime Wlad wasn't a guy who could handle a shot well nor particularly cared to get smacked in the mouth. Once Joshua gets in a few I think the fight is pretty much over. This won't be a repeat of Lemmon Lewis vs Michael Grant.
Is this the first time two HW (or Super HW, whatever) gold medalists are facing each other a HW strap
No, Wlad fought Povetkin ages ago and made shit of him. It was back during the bad days when nobody was fighting anybody, not like this Halcyon Period we have now.
Foreman vs Frazier was the first one for the title (back then heavyweight gold medalists without "super"). First super heavy gold medalists to meet n the ring were Lennox and Biggs, first in the championship ring were Wlad and Pove
It's the heavyweight division, and given Joshua's unproven chin, anything that happen. But yes, AJ should definitely be favored at this point and I think he'll stop the old man.
For this fight,... Sir Joshua vs Wald,... first get your chips,.. second, turn the fucking sound off.
Wlad is too old for Joshua. Joshua has almost every advantage. Gotta give Wlad credit for taking such a dangerous fight though.
Ali wasn't a heavyweight gold medalist though. If we think about gold medalist vs gold medalist for the heavyweight crown, I think the first was Patterson vs Rademacher before Patterson-Ali
War Joshua!! Joshua needs to knock him out cold for the good of boxing. Wlad has had his time this is a Joshua era. I think this will be a Marciano Louis, Tyson Holmes type changing of the guard fight. Joshua will stop him in 6 rounds or less
