FYI, it's Just about to the Point Where Kyrie Irving OWNS Steph Curry...

Outplayed him in Game 1 of the 2015 Finals, Outplayed Him for the Entirety of the 2016 Finals, and Outplayed Him Today...

Curry was a no show. "OutlieRie" Irving is just a better player

Saying that Kyrie is a better player than Steph is outright comical. Make no mistake.... Lebron has ELEVATED Kyrie Irving BIG TIME. It's not like Wade, who was a great player independent of Lebron.... Irving is NOT a great player independent of Lebron. Kyrie Irving is a great ROBIN, but put him in a Batman role and he won't get a past a first round, MUCH LESS to a ring.

Curry is WAAAYYYY more impactful a player, and it's been proven that he can win in a Batman role.

HAVING SAID THAT, yeah, Kyrie just has Steph's number it seems.

But there's a big difference between outplaying him head-to-head and actually being better.

Replace Curry with Irving on the Dubs, and they never win a record amount of games, and they never go deep in the playoffs.

Whereas you pair Lebron and Curry, and you're looking at basically an unbeatable team.

Curry is a top 5 player in the league.

Irving arguably even isn't even a top 5 PG.

Put irving on golden state instead of curry and they still win that title vs a irving-less Cleveland team

Warriors never get out the west with Irving as their man. Curry was awesome in the 2015 playoffs.

Curry is having a down year, especially compared to last season, but doesn't change the fact that he can anchor an offense in a way in which Irving cannot. He put up 30 PPG on ridiculously good efficiency, and was the focal point of a 73 win team. That's a bigger accomplishment than Irving having a great 3 games in the finals paired with the top 5 players of all time,

Forget Curry, Irving isn't even as valuable as Dame Lillard. I have serious doubts about Irving being able to lead the Blazers to the playoffs the way Lillard did last year.

Whereas you pair Lebron with Lillard, and there's zero drop off from losing Irving.

Irving is what he is.... a damn good scorer. He's actually an unstoppable scorer on a really good night. He's also extremely clutch. But he's a shitty defender, and a mediocre playmaker for a PG.

He's arguably a top 5 PG, but you can also make an argument that he's inferior to guys like Kemba Walker, John Wall, I.Thomas...

Curry is no worse than the 2nd best PG in the league. This year he's behind WB, but that's it.

I cannot overstate enough how much Lebron James can elevate a player. Lebron turned bum ass Mo Williams into an all star one year. Lebron's so good he'd probably make scrub ass Jeremy Lin into an all star.

W/o Lebron, and the narrative of Kyrie Irving is COMPLETELY different. And no, don't get it twisted, Irving is a lot better than Mo Williams and Jeremy Lin. Just sayin...

Yeah, this is why I disagree with Neil... I think the Cavs are gonna take em again in the finals. Barring any injuries, of course.

It's basically as simple as Kyrie having Steph's number, and Lebron making an entire career out of owning KD head-to-head.

Fuck the 73 games. The only thing golden state has accomplished so far that matters was the title

Put irving with that stacked warrior team instead of curry and they're still a great team. In fact in that system I think irving would flourish even more offensively

yea the tech on jefferson was phony, but james shouldve got one for hanging on the rim based on league rules.

the non call on jefferson at the end was not surprising based on circumstances. bottom line is he stepped on durants foot, causing him to stumble and turn the ball over. its a pretty clear cut foul.

Irving would not flourish on any team as a focal point. He can take over games for sure, but Lebron is the reason they actually WIN and because of Lebron.... Irving gets overrated.

Every season since 2013 Curry has been better than any Irving season.

Make no mistake, Curry is THE MAIN reason the Warriors became an elite team. Haters can act like it's Draymond, or Klay, or the coaching of Kerr, but they never would have become an elite team without Curry emerging as a superstar 4 years ago.

Kyrie Irving can't say that. The Cavs were pitful without Lebron, and if Lebron suffered a season ending injury TODAY.... I can assure that it would be Warriors vs Raptors in the finals.

it doesnt matter how bad cleveland was before james arrived. golden state roster is completely different. they got a lot of talented guys. put curry on those shitty cleveland teams minus james and they aint going anywhere either.

lets not forget irving was the guy starting for the olympic team over curry, despite being younger

I don't care who starts on Olympic teams. That means nada. Melo's started on olympic teams as well, does that make him better than Curry too?

Your Curry hate is just unreal at this point to the extent that you've tried to diminish him in every capacity in this thread, even his three point shooting ability.

Kyrie Irving is not a MVP caliber player, not independent of Lebron anyway.

GRANTED, Irving is still very young and we might not have seen his peak yet. But as of RIGHT NOW... he's not as good as Curry's peak.

facts are facts. i dont hate curry, in fact i enjoy watching him play. curry and irving were competing directly for the same spot. irving ended up starting. if curry didnt get hurt and played on the past olympic team i suspect irving wouldve still started over him. anthony plays an entirely different position.

Kyrie is a great scoring talent. But I question if he's good enough to be "the man" on a real contender. He'd be a great sidekick though, and he's definitely a guy who can be trusted to hit a game winning shot.

Right now, I have Kyrie as TENTATIVELY the 5th best PG in the league. Westbrook, Curry, CP3, and Lillard are the top 4. I think Irving's ability to offensively dominate puts him above guys like Walker, Lowry, and Wall, even though those three guys are far better defenders than Kyrie.

Oh and for the record.... I like Kyrie. He's one of most fun players in the league to watch, and his handles are fuckin incredible. But he's not a top 5 player. In a few years, maybe that can change.

I wouldn't either if I were Cleveland given his age. He's by far the youngest of the top 10 PG's, and he's also the best iso scorer of any of them. And in this league, being a great 1 v 1 scorer is always important.

Westbrook is a better player than Irving, but in certain situations facing a great perimeter defender, Kyrie would probably do a better job breaking down the defense than Westbrook.

Now, if you put Irving on the Thunder in place of Westbrook.... you're looking at a lottery team. I don't think Irving could carry a team devoid of talent the way Russ has so far this year.

But Irving's a much better FIT on the Cavs than Westbrook would be.

if OKC had irving instead of westbrook i think durant would have stayed there, and would already have a ring.

I wouldn't doubt that. I think Irving's a better 2nd fiddle than Westbrook, and his game and skill set are a much better fit next to KD.

As a focal point on offense though, Westbrook is capable of doing more.

I dont really see it. westbrook can put up numbers but that team isnt going anywhere. no chance they get to round 2 in the postseason. irving could lead that same team to a first round playoff exit.

    Please.

I agree with they aren't going DEEP in the playoffs with Wesbrook, but replace him with Irving, and they aren't MAKING the playoffs.

You're making it seem like Kyrie is prime Kobe or something.

It's Hard to Compare Steph and Kyrie Mainly Due to AGE...Kyrie's 4 FULL Years Younger...But The Steph of 4 Seasons Ago WASN'T as Good as Kyrie Irving is Today...If Kryrie's in his Prime, he JUST Entered It...Chances are, he has YET to Have Reached It...

Sure, Kyrie has LeBron, but Steph's Had a Pretty Good Supporting Cast in Golden State, All the While...MUCH Better than the Borderline D-League Squad Kyrie had in Cleveland, Prior to Bron and Kevin Love Joining Him...

Steph SHOOTS 3's and FACILITATES Better...Kyrie Shoots Better from Mid-Range, Finishes @ the Rim (& In Traffic) Better and Just Might Have Slightly BETTER Handles...Kyrie's the Better SCORER in the Sense he Can Go Off w/or w/Out the 3-Ball Falling...For Steph to Bust 40-50 Plus, he Needs a LOT of 3's to Fall...

Similar to Shaq w/DWade, REED Thinks Bron is SHOWING Kyrie How to Be a SUPERSTAR and as Bron's Game Deteriorates, Kyrie's Star will SHINE...By the Time Kyrie's a Free Agent, 3 Years from Now, he'll EASILY Be a Top 3-5 Player in the League, if Not HIGHER...

John Wall has a SEMBLANCE of an Argument for Being AS GOOD as Kyrie, but he's NOT Better...And There's Absolutely ZERO Argument for Isaiah Thomas or Kemba Walker Being Better...
