Archie comics gets its live action tv treatment and the producers apparently thought that, even though the characters have been around since like forever and have never lost their popularity due their silly fun situations, it was better to make this version into a dark Twin Peaks-like murder mystery to appeal to a broader audience. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8AMiwKhm3uI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Watched the premiere episode last night with my daughter who has been reading Archie comics since she learn to read. It wasn't as bad as I thought even though both me and my daughter were appalled by all the changes like: Betty is still head-over-hills about Archie, but she is the sister of the main suspect of Jason's death. Veronica lives with her slutty rich mom (who has a heated past with Archie's dad!) and while she likes Archie it seems she is more into Betty...in a lesbian way! Betty best friend is a gay boy who in the comics was straight and of course there are gay lovemaking here. Archie is NOT interested so far in either girl as he is obsessed with continue screwing his HOT teacher (who in comicbooks was an elderly lady!). Jughead is an aspiring writer and Scooby Doo like murder-mystery amateur investigator. While all this is more Beverly Hills 90104 or whatever that shit was called, it was edited nicely and well acted so, if I don't forget, I might watch another episode as the trailer is promising an ass shot of Veronica. 6.6/10
