Whiplash was great but nothing about that trailer made me wanna watch that. Looks like a 90 minute perfume advert

 

Yeah, looks well made and is probably Oscar bait, but I don't have a lot of patience for musicals in general.

 

This is Anthony's pick for Best Movie of the Year.

 

The deal breaker for me is the fact that it's a musical.

 

Anthony tends to be pretty objective about movies and knows his stuff though, to be fair...

Unless Hollywood has another quirky night, then this movie should clean up at The Oscars.

I havent seen it yet, and dont tend to watch musicals as a rule but this has me interested.

 

That's the appeal: old-school Hollywood movie...made in Hollywood.

 

I've only seen 1-2 clips of this and it still looks movie of the year for me...


The fuck with Civil War ::

 

The Golden Globes missed the boat by awarding the Best TV drama series to 'The Crown' and not 'Game of Thrones' that had the best season ever of that series. I mean any one of the last two episodes of season 6 'The battle of the Bastards' or 'Winds of Winter' shits on the entire season of 'The Crown'. Not even close!

 

The the fuck is "The Crown", and why is it being mentioned in this thread?

I'd rather polish Trumps yacht, then watch another bullshit biopic about "The Queen".

 

Yeah, looks like a good deal, just don't have the time to watch what I already have and don't feel like throwing more cash at the cable company. When my contract runs out I may just ditch HBO/Showtime/Cinemax etc..., and go with Netflix instead.

 

Just a browse on Google and it looks like it's way past my learning curve. ::

I'd rather just pay for my TV if I have to think to much to figure out how to get it for free or for cheap. I've got Amazon Prime to, and I can't be fucked to figure out how to get it on my TV or even my computer. I waste to much time already in my life.

 

For my daughters sake? She's the one we get to hook up the TV to the computer when we really, really want to watch something that's online or on Amazon. Once she leaves the house, we're back to walking dogs to pass the time. ::


Really, I need less excuse to watch TV anyways. Not more.

 

The cold hard truth and fact is, if Christopher Nolan had directed 'The Crown'....Anthony would be standing up, pointing at the screen, screaming "Oh my God!!! DID YOU SEE THAT?! What a tracking-shot!!"

Btw, The Crown is officially the most expensive television series ever produced: US$140 million for 10 episodes. ...
