Khan vs Brook finally upon us.

Seems contact has been made from both sides to make this fight for the middle of 2016.

Is Brook worse than Algieri?

 

He's not far away, let me tell you. Both are bang average at world level. Khan isn't very good either. Not suggesting that he is.

Khan ducking aside, I just think that Brook punches too hard for him. It seemed to me Algieri made Khan look very vulnerable and he's the definition of feather fisted.

My gut tells me that Brook ends this within 4.

 

Khan has no chin. Everyone and their dog knows that. That said, I can see Khan shoe-shining his way to a decision if Brook doesn't land the winning shot. Brook has a pretty poor workrate. Even if Brook wins, which he might, it doesn't really say anything. Anyone decent should be able to beat Khan.

Bottom line is that Khan is limited at world level, and has been exposed as such. Brook is just as poor and will be exposed soon enough.

I can agree that Khan has a chance to win it like that. And if his defense and chin were any better, I'd probably pick him.

But I dare say, Khan's defense is no better than Porter's (Even with Vujwol in his corner), and Brook's workrate is no worse than Algieri's. I can see him chasing Khan around and landing a lot of rights too if Amir decides to run.

If Khan can take Brook's power, he can win. You have my agreement with that... But I can 99.9% guarantee you he won't, and you know what, it wouldn't prove much for Brook.

Brook would have to beat Spence in order for me to say he's the man at 147 lbs.

Brook chasing people around? Nah. That's not the way he fights. He's a classic Ingle fighter. All stupid footwork and single shots. Khan won't go running. He's too thick to try anything other than Plan A, which is to mooch forward throwing flashy looking but ineffectual boxbot 1-2s until either the fight ends of he gets his chin cracked again.

Brook is bigger and hits harder than Garcia. As of yet, at 147, Khan hasn't been hit by a big welterweight. Khan will get tagged and I'm not too confident he'll take it all that well, despite being at the bigger weight. But what is interesting is that Brook hasn't faced a guy with Khan's speed and style.
