Ibaka and Adams were filling that role in OKC. Durant is doing it by necessity at Golden State because they lack big men. Even with that the case, he's really not far off from what he put up last season.

You Keep SAYING that, but Other Teams Have Been Comprised of Multiple Players Rebounding @ a HIGH Level, Bruh...

In Fact, No Team Can Have ENOUGH Rebounders, and an ATHLETIC, 6'11 Guy Should NEVER Be Absolved from that or Blocking Shots...EVER...For Fuck's Sake, Russell Westbrook was AS GOOD a Rebounder as Durant Was, their Last 2 Years Together!!!...Motherfuck the 8inch Difference in Height...

On Top of All That, Ibaka's Paint Protection DWINDLED as he Became Enamored w/his 3pt Shot...His Blocks Dropped Off CONSIDERABLY, as his Shot Making Ability Improved...

NOfuckingEXCUSE for Durant "All of a Sudden" Averaging More Boards and Blocks than he EVER Has, Besides the Fact he Simply DIDN'T Want To in OKC...

Nah, REED'll Be Rubbing This in YOUR Face, When Golden State FAILS to Win a Championship, DESPITE Durant FINALLY Divulging Some of his 6'11 Time to the Fucking Paint...

And YOU'LL Still Blame Russell Westbrook...

    Precisely...

And the Difference in .4 Rebounds or .5 Blocks, Over the Course of a Fucking SEASON, Could Very Much Result in an Extra WIN or 5, Resulting in a More Favorable Seed, Possible Homecourt Advantage, etc...

Buy You're Suuuuch a Blind, Durant Dick Rider, You're Attempting to MINIMIZE, Despite REED Bringing This Out @ Basically the MID POINT of the Season...

Actually, Golden State's MORE than Halfway Thru their Schedule, but Fuck That, Let's PRETEND it's Only a 10-20 Game Sample Size, Since You've Proven to Be INfuckingCAPABLE of Holding Your Hero Accountable...

It's just silly. Golden states roster is different. They play smaller more often and by circumstance Durant will be closer to the basket and get more opportunities to rebound and block shots by default. Complete non issue

C'mon REED. Westbrook is averaging a triple double this year. By your logic he wasn't trying hard enough in the years he was playing with Durant, otherwise he would have been doing that every year.

Get off the "Damn Him Durant" subway platform, and get back on the "Harden Hate" train with me. It's a full time job, and that hate shouldn't get watered down for other less deserving players.

It's very apparent that even with the addition of KD that the 2017 Dubs have regressed from the 2015 and 2016 Dubs. Them getting upset in the West wouldn't be a shock.

No, I just don't see the same late game execution in this version of GS. Sometimes adding another superstar is not the ideal solution.

They scream front runners this year, and especially in 2015, that was not the case.

I don't see any difference between the Warriors in 2015 and 2016. They just went up against a better team in the finals in 2016

One difference is that Steph had an excellent post-season in 2015 and did not in 2016. Then of course you had Iggy performing great in the 2015 finals.

I remember reading Durant wasn't even allowed to shoot around with headphones on in OKC. He said one of the assistant coaches came to him and said "we don't do that around here". He said in Golden State it's a lot more relaxed and I think that could be reflected in how well he's been playing.

He didn't say which regime it was but it was probably earlier in his time there so I'd imagine Brooks.

i dont think that was a big issue. going to a much better free flowing system that promotes ball movement and being surrounded by guys who have high basketball and can space the court to maximize his talents were why he left.

Oh I'm sure. I was just surprised OKC wouldn't give those guys more freedom and comfort. A happy relaxed player is a better player.

People are now pretending that KD was subpar with the Thunder or something. Are yall forgetting that this dude had a historically great scoring season in 14 and won MVP?

What's SILLY is the Notion of an Athletic, 6'11 Dude Being ABSOLVED of Rebounding/Shot Blocking Duties...

Regardless the Coach/System/Team, a Players Physical Makeup CREATES an Expectation of Him, Statistically...And Duly Note, Shots Can Be Blocked AWAY from the Basket, as Well...

Bottom Line is, Durant WASN'T as Interested in these Areas of his Game, UNTIL This Season...

reed is just attempting to plant these seeds for when golden state marches to a title and durant is finals MVP. this way his fallback plan will be a silly narrative about how OKC woulda threepeated if only durant would have played this way with them. and poor wittle westbrook had to suffer through all those year with an "uninterested" durant

the bottom line is you are going to have more opportunities to block more shots and get more rebounds the closer you are stationed to the paint. with golden state durant plays more minutes at the 4/5 spot defensively than he did with OKC simply because golden state doesnt have an adams, kanter or ibaka. its not a matter of interest or desire its just logistics on the court.

    You're Dealing w/Kevin Durant APOLOGISTs, X...

It's ALL Westbrook's Fault, to Hear Them Tell It...Nevermind the FACT Durant Led the League in Scoring 3-4 Times w/Westbrook as his Sidekick...

No, YOU'RE Painting a Picture of Durant Somehow Being HINDERED or HELD BACK by Westbrook, Which is Complete BULLSHIT...Kevin Durant SACK SWINGING Bullshit...

As If Durant Wasn't THE Man in OKC, his Entire Time There, Putting Up 30ppg Some Seasons, LEADING the Fucking League in Scoring...

At NO Point has REED Said OKC Would've Won Shit, but Let's NOT Pretend Durant COULDN'T Have Invested just a BIT More Time in the Paint (Something REED's Noted on THIS Site for the Last 5 Fucking YEARS, No Less)...And w/SLIGHT Adjustments as Such, to his Game (Adjustments he's COOL w/Making Now), Who Knows How Much BETTER OKC Would've Fared, the 1 Time they Reached the NBA Finals or the Multiple Times they Advanced to the Western Conference Finals???...

A Team CAN'T Have Enough Guys Protecting the Paint and Your Emphasis on Ibaka Completely IGNORES the Fact that He was ALSO Hoisting Up More 3's than he Should've...Hell, Westbrook was Getting MORE Paint Points than EITHER of Them, Towards the End...

The FACT is, Durant was CONTENT Being THE League's Tallest PERIMETER Player, Taking Ill Advised 3's During CRUCIAL Moments of Playoff Games...And he "Took His Talents" to a Team that Places LESS Pressure on Him to Perform...He Went from THE Guy to A Guy...But Instead of Placing Even a SLIVER of Accountability @ Durant's Feet, You Simply Blame it ALL on Westbrook...

    REED's Already PREDICTED As Much...

The Dubs are even MORE Perimeter Oriented than Previously Constructed, and if they Don't JUMP on Teams Early or Build a HUGE Lead @ Some Point, They're In Trouble...We've Seen This on Christmas vs. Cleveland, their Season Opener vs. San Antonio and TWICE vs. Memphis, Already...

4th Quarter of a TIGHT Playoff Game ISN'T The Place for Launching 3's w/Reckless Abandon, but that's PRECISELY What Golden State Will Resort To...

The ONLY Time that Strategy Actually WORKED, was when Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving were in Street Clothes...

The truth is, KD and Westy are both better off without eachother. They were NEVER EVER a good fit, despite their regular season success and despite the media hype.

It's NOT like Shaq-Kobe, who actually WERE a good fit.... on the court.... their personalities just didn't mesh.

w/the RIGHT Coach, They Would've Been...

Billy Donovan MAY Have been that Guy, but He Didn't Want to Rock the Boat Tooooooo Much his 1st Season, and Durant Departed Thereafter...Scott Brooks was a BUDDY Coach...

What Durant/Westbrook Needed was a Coach that TOLD Them How They were GOING to Play, as Opposed to just ALLOWING them to Figure it Out Themselves...THE Biggest Problem REED Saw with Durant/Westbrook is NEITHER of Them Recognized When their Perimeter Shot was FAILING Them, and Adjusted Accordingly...Instead, They'd Both CONTINUE to Fire Them Up, Despite Subpar FG%'s on a Given Night...

Obviously, Westbrook's Shot SELECTION and ATTEMPTS Needed Tweaking...Durant Needed to Work CLOSER to the Basket, on BOTH Sides of the Ball...Never a Pure Back to the Basket Guy, but Durant Could EASILY Get 6-10pts EVERY Game from the Low Block (Particularly @ CRUNCH Times of Playoff Games)...And he Could FEAST on Baseline Jumpers...There STILL Would've Been Enough Attempts for Durant's Normal Perimeter Exploits and Dribble Drives...

Durant/Westbrook Would've THRIVED in a High Pick and Roll/Pick and Pop Offense, Too...That Way, Instead of 1 Them Having the Rock and the Other Merely WATCHING, they've Be Playing OFF EACH OTHER...REED Brought This Up 2-3 Years Ago, but Never 1nce Did He See OKC's Coaches Implement This...

We'll NEVER Know, but REED is Convinced it COULD Have Worked...

westbrook is not a great pick n roll player. teams just go under the pick. the pick doesnt help a whole lot, its no different than him isolating and driving. he can get that same shot from 20 feet back to the arc at anytime, the problem is he is still not a consistent shooter from that area.

    Huh???:dunno:...

Westbrook and Steven Adams have GREAT Pick and Roll Chemistry...And MORE Times Than Not, the Result is a Highlight Reel Alley-Oooop DUNK for Adams...

Adams is Averaging a CAREER Best 12ppg, the MAJORITY By Virtue of HIGH Pick and Roll w/Westbrook...If Westbrook Can Execute Pick and Roll w/Adams, CLEARLY he Could'e Done So w/Durant...

Westbrook's NEVER Looked Better as a PURE Passer, Than he Has THIS Season, in Pick and Roll Scenarios w/Steven Adams...
