That's because Obama divided the country by being such a militant, Huey Newton type of guy!

Obama was white, bro. Polish and Scandinavian to be exact.

Only alternative facts says he was black.

I like the one guy firing a pistol after Arsenio and the other guy riddle the scene with Tommy gun fire and then he gets all mad "stop firing that little shit!"

My fear is that they remake Harlem Nights, starring that unfunny midget Kevin Hart.

LOL. Love & Basketball is not a great flick.

If we're talkin bout movies with Omar Epps in it, Higher Learning is a great flick.

    Spike's Problem is his EGO...

It's 1 Thing Inserting Yourself into "She's Gotta Have It", Given the LOW BUDGET Nature of the Film...But Spike ROUTINELY Inserted Himself into his Flicks, Unnecessarily...Making his Character PERTINENT to the Climax of the Story, in just about Every Instance...

In "School Daze", Spike was Larry Fishburne's Cousin, "Half Pint", who Got to Sex the Queen of the "Good Hair" Girls (Played by Tisha Campbell)...Granted, the Sex was Only Insinuated, but it's what PROPELLED Fishburne's "Wake Up" Utterances @ the End...In "Do the Right Thing", Spike's Character "Mookie" is the One that Hurls the Trash Can thru Sal's Front Window, Prompting the Riots...Spike ALSO Wrote in a Completely UNNECESSARY Nude Scene Consisting of Rosie Perez and Himself...As if a Bitch Like Rosie Perez Would EVER Give a Broke, Sawed Off, Pizza Delivering Motherfucker like Mookie Some Play...Perez Even Said Herself that She Felt EXPLOITED Afterwards...

In "Mo Better Blues", Spike Played the Manager of Denzel's Band, and in the Course of Trying to DEFEND Spike's Character, "Giant", Denzel's Face is Fucked Up to the Point of Effectively ENDING his Trumpet Playing Career...In "Jungle Fever", Spike Plays Wesley Snipes' Best Friend, who SELLS his Bestie Down the River, Telling his Own Wife that Wesley Not Only Cheated, but w/a WHITE Woman...And of Course There's "Malcolm X", where Spike had the Fucking AUDACITY to Cast Himself as Malcolm's Best Friend in Crime, "Shorty"...

Along with That is Spike's Belief that ALL Areas of Black Filmmaking Should Go Thru HIM...

He Bitched about How "UNFUNNY" Eddie Murphy's "Harlem Nights" Fight Scene was w/Della Reese...That was Probably THE Funniest Part of the Entire Flick, yet Spike's ELITIST Ass Acted as if he was Judge, Jury and Executioner Of HUMOR in Black Films...Spike's Also Been a STAUNCH Critic of Tyler Perry Films and Those of Other Blacks to the Point there's NOT Really ANY Black Filmmaker Spike Endorses...

He's Got a GOD COMPLEX when it Comes to Black Filmmaking, Which is ANNOYING as Hell...

REED'll Never Forget the Time Spike VOLUNTEERED the Fact he "Doesn't Find White Women Attractive"...Just More Self Serving Bullshit, as if ANY White Broad Would WANT to Sex his Bitter, Midget Ass Anyways...

Spike does have a huge ego, but can't fault him one bit for going after Tyler Perry.

Somebody had to call that coon out on the incredibly ignorant bullshit movies he makes.

There's a reason you'll never see a Denzel in a Tyler Perry movie. Denzel ain't beat for the cooning, buffooning, script sounding like it was written by a 10-year-old that Tyler's closet faggot ass puts out.

    FUCK Tyler Perry!

    Good at best, I guess.

As far as black romances go, I much prefer Love Jones.

Admittedly, I ain't see Crooklyn since the late 90s, but maybe my memory is rusty.

Denzel did a movie in the late 80's called "The Mighty Quinn" where he played a cop in Jamaica or some other Caribbean island, that I used to rewatch regularly.

Not sure if it's considered a "black" movie, but I think I'm the only one who's ever rated it very high.

I remember liking "Soul Food" back in the day.

It loses points though, for inspiring Tyler Perry and a bunch of other hacks to make hokey rip-off after hokey rip-off of it.

Fresh is very good. Sean Nelson was amazing in it, and funny at times too.

"I got an appointment with Hector, not your big gorilla monkey ass".

Does the first House Party count, or does everyone know how great it is?

Boyz N the Hood and Menace II Society are always compared to each other, but Menace is more of a Black Scorsese movie than another BITH.

Take Mean Streets & Goodfellas, make it a black movie in Watts in the 90s, and you've got Menace. The Hughes
Brothers credit Scorsese for being a huge influence, and the similarities are very obvious.

I don't understand why The Hughes Brothers don't make more stuff. Either they can't get work or they don't wanna work, but their stuff always seems pretty compelling and skillful..........the last being "Book Of Eli", which was much better then I expected it to be.

Fresh and House Party both count. And both are very good movies.

House Party's great 100% because of Robin Harris.

The scene where the kid hangs and kills the dog to keep him out of the dog fighting scene was one of the more disturbing things I've seen in a mainstream film. Not because it was graphic, but because it was such a calculating thing for a kid who was supposed to be the hero of the film, to do.
