That's right...action films are often unfairly overlooked by film snobs who want to show how "with it" they are.

That's possible. But I suspect that in most cases a guy that considers himself an authority on films says to himself: "Explosions and action sequences? STRIKE OFF THE LIST!!! Fantasy elements? STRIKE OFF THE LIST!!! Heavy CGI? STRIKE THE FUCK OFF THE LIST!!!"

There's been MANY brilliant/classic fantasy movies throughout history. That piece of shit Avatar just isn't one of them.

I bet you haven't even watched Avatar, you cunt. You probably pre-judged it the way I did and then didn't even bother. Yes...when I saw the commercials and the hype for it I was sickened before even watching it and had no plans to do so. I was thinking "Big blue alien creatures in some fantasy love story...NO THANKS!!". Then I decided, against my will, to watch it with the family and was pleasantly surprised. BLOODY GOOD FILM! You probably watched the first 10 mins and said "fuck it".

Now...if I'm wrong and you happened to watch the entire film and still think it's shit...then that's your prerogative. But it tells me that you're just a cunt who denigrates films simply on the basis of them having a combination of hype and CGI. There's NO WAY someone could watch that entire film and genuinely think that it is shit. No way.

Boxing fans do the same shit. You would hardly find Muhammad Ali on the top ten P4P lists of any supposed boxing expert...because he's so famous.

Cunts like you deserve to be pissed on to be honest with you.

No, the problem is Sly, I actually saw Avatar TWICE.... within the first two weeks it came out, about 5 days apart. TRUST ME, the second viewing was highly INVOLUNTARY, but I was on a double-date and more-less forced to.

Thought it was extremely mediocre after the first viewing, but granted, I kinda dozed off and chalked it up being tired, so I figured what the Hell lemme give this movie an honest second shot.

Found out on the second viewing that I kept dozing off cause I was fucking BORED OUT MY MIND watching it.

Fair enough. But dude...stop acting like your opinion is the only objective viewpoint. there's a reason why many people like Avatar. It's obviously not a "shit" film.

    You're right.
    It's not shit.
    It's worse.

It's like a massive dollop of freshly-shat SHIT that's been shat into a shag-pile carpet and someone's trodden in it and smeared it around unknowingly...

It's like everyone has picked a great list (except Slug)...bit like going to a 5-star restaurant and an amazing 3-course meal...and then eating a SlutStaff "rancid scumburger"...and then 100m'ering it to the toilet to diarrhea it all out again...

Don't be an idiot like xplosive. You better than that.

There are MANY "ZOMG it's so pretty! CGI! 3-D!!!!" films out there that didn't get Avatar recognition. It's obviously more than just that.

You just hate on it because of that only, which is silly.

See....again...Non-Conformists are as ridiculous as conformists....as both are affected but what the majority of people do. A true individual is someone like myself...who appreciates good films whether they are popular or not. Whether they have CGI/3-D or not. I love me some obscure foreign language shit that no one has every heard of and some dark gloomy artsy fartsy shit.....and on the other end I love me some "pretty, CGI 3D fantasy explosions" shit.

I don't box myself in like you cunts. If something is good, it's good. Period.

You guys are like "only teenyboppers like action and CGI....I'm too mature to like that". I look at guys like you in the same way I look at guys that attend church weddings wearing jeans, T shirts and sports caps...just to be different. Embarrassingly idiotic insecure cunts.

I think the bigger reason Sly's forgetting is that millions of people have KIDS, and its an appealing movie for children to watch.

No parent is gonna take their 10-year-old kid to see No Country For Old Men.

There are lots of kids films that don't make anywhere near Avatar numbers. Besides, it's not a kids film....not in the slightest.

Avatar not a kid's film? WTFFFFFF?

Alright, need ANOTHER reason it did such big numbers? James Cameron. Who's PREVIOUS movie was then highest crossing movie of all time in Titanic, and there was all the hype of the years he put into making Avatar.

OBVIOUSLY, most those years went into developing the visual effects, because the story line he picked up after an 80 minute viewing of Disney's Pocahontas.

You're just jumping on the bandwagon that says this was a remake of Pocahontas, not dissimilar to the faction that say Trumps inauguration speech was ripped off from Bane's in DKR. It's silly.

The assassinations and lives of Kennedy and Lincoln have about 20 startling coincidences....but then the differences between the two far outweigh the similarities. If we focus on the coincidences only we can pretend that one is the same as the other. You can apply that logic to anything if you want. In Hollywood...nothing is completely original. Everything is similar to something that came before it...in some way or sometimes many ways.

    Anyway...did Pocahontas feature the following:

Warriors flying on the backs of local fauna
Warriors communicating telepathically with local fauna
    Avatars
An equivalent of the legend of "Toruk Makto"
    Other planets
Disabled guy that can walk because of avatar left by twin
Deity controlling all of the fauna to fight the enemy

I'll just give those for now.

And yes...Avatar is not a kids film. The fact you think so tells me that you haven't watched it. Even if it was...there are countless kids films that didn't make anywhere near Avatar numbers. Again y'all are just hating on the film because it was popular...and you want to appear "hip". GTFOH
