Vernon Forrest vs Paul Williams

The Viper against the Punisher. Does Forrest's superior boxing technique and powerful right cross win out, or does Williams' volume and in-fighting take the control away fom Vernon's basic left jab/right hand orthodoxy?

 

I remember Kermit the outboxing Williams in the early rounds, and finding him an easy target until the bitch in him came out.

I'd definitely favor Forrest in this one. I think he lands the much cleaner counters, and hit hard/sharp enough to gain Tall Paul's respect.

 

Id take williams. forrest wouldnt have a height/reach advantage and would get outworked.

 

Paul's workrate would drop after consistently getting busted in the face by Forrest's jab and throwing off his rhythm.

 

Forrest would have a field day with straight right hands.

And he'd land enough of them to keep P-Will off him.

Forrest hits him almost at will with right hands. Probably stops him in around 9 rounds.

 

Changed my mind, styles favour williams but forrest wins anyway.
