92 Bowe beats the shit outta Golota. A combination of being horribly outta shape and the third Holy fight took a lot outta Bowe. Had he been in the same form he was in for the first Holy fight and taken Golota just as seriously as he did Holy, it's a completely different fight for the Pole.
92 Bowe blows out Golota. As X mentioned, the wars with Holyfield plus Bowe just not giving a fuck anymore in 96 contributed a lot.
Perhaps. However, I always suspected that Bowe lacked in heart and resolve (based mainly on his 1988 Olympic final loss). I felt that he was carefully managed and was matched up against much smaller fighters (Holyfield) or past prime fighters (Tubbs), short fighters (Cooper) or "never was" fighters (Jesse Ferguson, Big Cuban bum). He avoided Lennox Lewis like the plague, also avoided Razor Ruddock. He only won the third Holyfield fight because Evander was sick that night. The moment the Golota fight was signed I was telling my friends that Golota would win. I said that it's the first time Bowe would be up against a prime guy his size that had a comparable skillset. People seem to forget that an undefeated Golota was a tremendous fighter....basically a white version of Bowe. I think the winner of the fight always depended on Golota's mentality not on what Bowe did. I'll be in the minority here but that's fine.
Golota had talent, but looking great in the two Bowe fights (minus the DQ) had more to do with how POOR Bowe looked rather than how good Golota was. Lewis proved in the very next fight Golota's TRUE worth as a fighter.
Nah...that was Lewis. On any given day Lewis was capable of KOing any Heavyweight....I mean look what he did to Razor Ruddock after Tyson struggled with him twice. Besides you can argue that Golota was softened up from the two Bowe wars.
I could never understand why more dietitians and ethnographers couldn't find the link between the fall of the Berlin Wall and the decrease in talent of African-American heavyweights. I mean, the correlation is there, for all to see. ::

Bowe was always susceptible defensively, particularly at longer range. He actually had better defense on the inside than outside (and just better all around on the inside) So assuming Golota doesn't have one of those early fight meltdowns (Lewis, Tyson, Brewster), I think he would have some success and give Bowe rough moments, but ultimately Bowe would be too much. kind of like the Pierre Coetzer fight
