THE PREPARATION: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/10e7E29_sic" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> It's no secret that I like Bellew because he has kind of attached himself to Everton Football Club which is my favorite club. A blue scouser is hard to go against.:fightme: I do like that Haye's a vegan though. :fightme: My head says that Bellew is too small for Haye and will probably be stopped late. But I'd be happy to see Bellew pull off the upset. Haye KO8
Hires somebody else's yatch for an hour to hit pads on, arranges to be filmed stepping onto a private jet even though he isn't flying anywhere, gets the camera crew to hang around til sunset so they can film him meditating on the beach :: War Bellew!
Wait, I went back and re-read your reference to the clip I hadn´t clicked on. But now I have, and understand your post - I had a look at it and ´boxing´ doesn´t get any funnier.
I had a friend growing up who reminds me of haye, always talking about various spiritual practices and 'import export' businesses he was setting up and assorted self-serious self improvement schemes. He ended up living in a muddy field in the Thames estury as part of a group of full time protestors. Desperately looking for something.
Clearly something in life rattles him. Intensely. I´ve never seen such an ´articulate´ sportsman who seemingly has everything yet has serious anger-management over such meaningless stuff...
Maybe he's just hyping his shitty fight. Both the standard weigh in brawl and the classic rocky storyline of the working class boy doing roadwork in the rain vs the jet setting millionaire on the beach
Exactly, it's all marketing bs. Though I've got to admit that Haye last line (about Bellew putting himself through hell will be for naught one he connects on his chin) was pretty good
Oh, yeah, and one more reason to actually like David Haye. He did a good job calling out that fucking weasel, Eddie Hearn and has kept it up. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3PjfIaoe5XU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The popular pick is Haye by early KO. Let's face it, Bellew's shit, fat and he's moving up to fight a guy who (although not a natural heavyweight), is used to fighting in that weight-class and used to being hit by heavyweights. Haye's old, but he should still have more than enough to see off the mouthy scouse twat. If you were to look in to this in a bit more detail, there is the possibility that Bellew might just pull off the shock. It's a long shot, but Bellew's been more active than Haye and has actually been in with guys that have punched back. Haye was out for, what, three and a bit years? And since he's made his comeback, he's had it easy against two soft touches. The mouthy scouse twat may see past the first few rounds and then make a fight of it, and if Haye goes for the kill early, he may gas out. It's hard to envisage Bellew hurting or even putting Haye on his arse, but if he can box smart, he could rack up the points and make this interesting. One punch could be all it takes though, from Haye, at any given time in the fight. I'll make an official pick after the weigh in, but I can see Bellew's corner throwing in the towel during rounds 4-6. Bellew won't be taken out cold, so he can move back down to cruiser and defend his WBC belt against a soft touch at Goodison park.
If anybody deserves to be brutally KO'd it's David Haye. But he picked this fight for a reason. Very likely he wins sometime in the mid rounds when Bellew's corner throws in the towel.
He's going to back away constantly like he did against Stevenson, lose every round and hope Haye tires. It's a shit tactic. The only chance he has is to get close to Haye, and make him work, which means he'll get knocked out anyway.
The only thing that raises questions is the fact that heavyweights have done poorly against smaller men. Byrd and Chambers failed as cruisers, and Povetkin nearly lost to Huck who came up in weight. It is difficult to adjust your game when you are used to fighting slower gus
I remember Wlad throwing a combination in that fight when Haye was trapped on the ropes, think it was the 5th? Anyway, Haye's head movement to avoid those shots was impressive. Pity the cunt wasn't as impressive at moving his fucking hands, but still, he should have way too much for Bellew.
I remember Haye getting into it with Vitali at a press conference before the fight. "When I knock your brother out, I want you to come here to the press conference afterwards. Don't go to the ambulance! Come here!!"
