Mayweather vs Sweet Pea at 147lbs

Discussion in 'Mythical Matchups' started by Destruction and Mayhem, Apr 16, 2017.

  1. Two defensive wizards...what happens?

I see a fascinating chessmatch, with Floyd getting more frustrated than ever before and Pea getting slightly the better of things early. Then I see Mayweather adjusting after finding a susceptibility in his opponent and then exploiting that. Still very competitive but Floyd wins 7 rounds to 5. Pea slightly better defensively but Floyd slightly better offensively.

  2. You forgot to prefix your opening with "Of course, Whitaker beats Mayweather at 135 and 140, but..."

  3. Floyd wins at 140lbs also. 135lbs is where he may lose...

  4. Whitaker fucking clowns Mayweather at 135 and 140...

You know it. I know it. Everyone on here knows it.

A coke-head, end-of-career Whitaker clowned a prime De La Hoya at 147 too, so clearly you're doing your usual blowing smoke up Mayweather's arse again.

Another embarrassing display of Mayweather nuthuggery by Donkey.

Sly picking Floyd to win a fight 7-5 means he gives Floyd no chance.

  6. How so? It means that I pic Floyd to win 7-5

Sly............Judah won the first 5 vs Floyd, dropping him.

  8. ON the contrary...this is an embarrassing display of Mayweather hatred. Nothing more, nothing less. No one in history would have been able to "fucking clown" Mayweather, much less someone shorter than himself.

Locche would have beaten the shit out of Floyd at 140, never mind what PW would have done.

  10. Judah did not win the first 5. He won 3 of the first 5 at best.

    Bunch of hotheads in here.

  12. OK...I'll play your game. Please explain to me, exactly how Locche would have dominated Mayweather. He would have hit Mayweather at will? He would have knocked him out? He would have outlasted him? He would have avoided all of Mayweather's counters? Explain how you see that fight playing out.

Floyd missing, getting frustrated, chasing a shadow, getting worked over against the ropes when he tries that crap he pulled with Corley.... Uncle Roger being ejected when he enters the ring to complain, HBO sucking Floyds dick.

Whitaker was plain better than Floyd. There's your answer.

I dunno about Locche beating Floyd. He had a superb defense, but I dunno if his offense was good enough to match Floyd's physical advantages.

Locche would make Floyd look very bad though. But I tend to think Floyd beats him via very boring decision.

Whitaker is a different story because Pea actually had a good offense to go with the superb defense. People have this misconception about Pea that he wasn't a good offensive fighter because he didn't have great pop. Very untrue.

Speaking of Locche... I'd love to see his fight against Carlos Ortiz. That fight was scored a draw, but legend has it that Ortiz was blatantly robbed.

  17. Winning rounds off of Whitaker was of course, famously easy.

I dont agree with Terp, but this sums you up perfectly when you talk about Mayweather or other mainstream boxers:
´We all watch boxing and we've all seen him fight so cut this "you just don't get it" bullshit when people don't agree with you. You sound like a teenage girl talking about Lady Gaga or something.´

  18. Was winning rounds off of Floyd famously easy?

Sly, you should go post on a casual boxing fan forum. You'd get along great there and everybody would agree with you that Floyd is the GOAT because they don't know any better.

Everybody here knows better, as we've followed Floyd's entire career and the careers of fighters before him. And here we know that even though Floyd is an all time great, there's been better and greater fighters in history.

    I'll put it this way...

Guys that fight in that shoulder roll style always have trouble with southpaws. A southpaw as great as Whitaker I don't see Floyd winning and you can pick the weight.

Whitaker was also a better puncher than given credit for. He didn't have a lot of KO's but he put a ton of hurt on guys mostly with his body punching.

But....but....but...the undefeated record mann????? The 600m net worth??? The clothing line???? How can Whitaker compete with that????

  22. Pretty much every thread about boxing that Horse-face starts, somehow has some blatantly obvious or hidden tenuous link which he will try to prove Mayweather´s imaginary ´greatness´ and ´genius´.

I've always had a hard time picturing this fight. Would imagine it'd be horrible to watch. Pea wins a close one.

  24. Notice how Sly is unable to use ´Pernell´ and /or ´Whitaker´ - he has to use his nickname. Like he´s a lesser opponent.

    On the other hand it´s all: ´Floyd this´ and ´Floyd that´.

Honestly, the subjective biaz toward Mayweather is extraordinário.

The same way McGregor will...........with funky facial hair, cheesy unoriginal one-liners, tight, luminous lycra pants.

  26. This joke is getting old now...hence why no one laughs at it anymore.

  27. Mayweather's greatness and genius isn't imagined...it's proven.

  28. I agree that there have been better and greater fighters than Floyd...never said otherwise...however...you can count them on one hand.

I'd actually like to see this fight at 154, even with the fat Whitaker that UD'd Vasquez because it would be more action packed whereas the WW/140/LW battles would consist of a million faints
