It definitely warrants mention among the best heavyweight fights ever.

Fantastic fight. Joshua was the better man and deserved the win but damn if Wlad didn't give it a go

Changing of the guard type fight for sure. Wlad went out on his shield. He fought a tough fight, but at 41, it's obvious that he is not the same fighter anymore.

Joshua's stamina has me worried a bit, but he showed true heart after he was decked and gassed.

About time you fucks showed the guy some love.

His last two opponents have been undefeated and a combined 30 years younger than him.

WK looked tired after 4 rounds....and his timing on the left hook was off.

I reckon 41 year old Vitali stops AJ.

Joshua is too musclebound to keep up the assaults. To be fair, he looked just as gassed in the 11th despite the fact he was throwing the shots.

I picked Joshua in 7 but also thought if Klitschko came and fought, things would be interesting.

Thing is, what next for Joshua?
Wilder is the best out of a bad bunch, opposition-wise....then what?

Gotta give it to Wlad though. Even though he gets dropped a lot, he has always finished on his feet.

I was disappointed in joshua, tbh- he needed to get the fight inside where his shorter punchers would do the work but he didn't know how to get there. No feints, no head movement just.... nothing. He throws great punches but he's got nothing else. Maybe a change of trainer in order

At 19 fights into his pro career, I don't think that's too alarming...
Of course one cannot develop a solid chin but he can rule the division for years...

Hope he totally ends Deontay Wilder who is...just dislikeable on every level.

    GOOD FIGHT!

Really enjoyed it and everyone we watched it with was enthralled by it from start to finish. Joshua answered some questions. He showed heart and guts to get up from a right hand that has KO-ed plenty before him. I thought he was done and had him two down going into that 11th, but that uppercut was hellish and the finish was top drawer. His power can certainly be questioned less after that IMO - he was tired as hell and still stopped his man late on.

His chin got checked and the reaction was a mixed bag. He looked like being on the verge of a stoppage in the 5th but a short left had him on wobbly legs and he got KTFD hard in the next, It took him three rounds to come back around - would a prime fighter have given him the same time? :dunno: And his stamina is still a concern - he was blowing out of his arse in the sixth and he looked absolutely knackered before he landed that shot.

Credit to Wald Pussy too. He fought a prime, young fighter and got knocked down, got up, dropped him hard and looked to be winning until he got hit with an uppercut that could have wrecked most fighters. He was stopped on his feet - a few of those I was with thought he was stopped early and I disagreed, but he was up and fighting back. At 41, he didn't harm his legacy at ALL in this fight.

    Enjoyed that.

Funny thing though: how many heavyweights in the last 20 years have had a) good stamina and b) great chin

Great fight which is something I never say about a HW bout. Mad props to Wlad thatfoughtt unlike I have ever seen him before: constantly moving, throwing LOTS of punches, not backing out when hit, not clinching...had he fought like THIS when he was in his prime he would had achieved more respect (and fans). Joshua, on the other hand, did not impressed me one bit. He did what was expected: stop the aging ex-champ. But in the process he struggled, seemed kinda of SCARED in the first couple of rounds and it wasn't until he drop Wlad in the 5th that he gained confidence. Still I was rooting for Wlad and I am sad that he was stopped as I could see that he could pull the upset (that damned hook to the top of the head! :pissed:) Still, Wlad went down on his shield and did not quit. My hat off to a great champion that on his best performance EVER couldn't turn the clock back. Prime Wlad would have murdered little Joshua. No doubt.

Still this was a great fight and the best fight of the Year so far.

All the talk about ´Prime Wlad´

That's the same ´Prime Wlad´ that got crushed by Purrity, smashed by Sanders and wiped out by Brewster.

You fuckers don't know shit about boxing.

Hayden Pantieere: what a smug, precocious little cunt she looked at ringside too.
What a bunch of utterly dislikeable arseholes the Klitschkos and anyone that associates themselves with them are.
Glad they´re finally out of boxing for good. Worst thing to ever happen to the Heavyweight division.

But then, Irish likes them so what do you expect? :dunno:

Really good fight. Waldo deserves props for coming back and making it a fight, but let's not get carried away. His opponents Colossus arms fell off in the middle of the round.

What a bloody great fight. I thought AJ was done but he showed the heart of a champ. Massive credit to Wlad too. Didn't expect him to fight the way he did. He landed some cracking shots. I really like Joshua's short punches in close.

Thats why i thought it'd be a pretty quick night - i thought Joshua would really make the effort to shorten the range and let those go. I expected something like the 11th round from the start, basically. within 20 seconds when it became clear he had ceded centre ring and intended to look for long right hands from range i got very nervous!

Wlad fought his heart out. Actually looked comfortable to attack and take chances, all the while showing some veteran tricks.

AJ showed a lot of heart. He was legitimately in a crisis and weathered the storm and came back to score a TKO. I'm glad that he was tested. He needed this.

Considering he just has 19 fights, what he's accomplished is impressive.
