First teaser trailer airs tonight during the NBA finals. That was a genius move by Marvel to target the African American males as regular Marvel fans don't need to be persuaded to watch this film.

 

I absolutely can't wait for this film. Black panther is a kick ass character.

 

Trailer has me excited. Can't wait

 

That doesn't look Asgardian to me, but the throne has prompted a lot of speculation on the net.

 

Yeah, Black Panther (T'chala) entered the Avengers in the late 69 and stayed for years.
No super-powers to speak of but maybe 2x the agility and speed of Daredevil...

This will be a very different Marvel film. I wasn't crazy about the choice of music, but looks interesting.

The trailer had 83 million views on its first 24 hours. That is not a record breaking number, but it is fantastic keeping in mind Black Panther is not as well known as the bigger names in Marvel AND that the trailer was not preceded by a weeks long announcement, countdown or any hype. Marvel just dropped it on a Friday almost without warning! So this tells me this movie will be a big hit. Maybe $66-$88 million opening.

 

I don't think Snipes' Blade character had any influence on the modern Superhero hype. All the credit for this current superhero climate must go to Bryan Singer's original X Men.

As good as X-Men was, the movies that followed had nowhere near the impact of those that followed Iron-Man in 2008.

Everything took-off to a new level and ties-in because of that movie.

 

Without X men there would be no Iron Man

Why wouldn't there be?
Marvel Entertainment (X-Men, Hulk, The Punisher, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four, etc) and Marvel Studios (MCU and thus the superior movies) run independent of each other.

Marvel Studios is the more successful.
