Totally agreed with all, but tbh, when a guy gets to 230lb and above, they just havent got the cardio for the various skills required for MMA.

Hunt: 260lb
Lewis: 265lb

Ngannou's the one getting all the hype. Lewis was never treated to Joe Rogan's nasal screams to be fair, but I essentially agree, Lewis should never, EVER have got this far,..if he just grew out his bald horse-shoe frizz, Dana could've been thinking well this time I might just get a piece of this innanet Kimbo stuff.

And people were blasting Dada 5000 and Kimbo, but this shit wasn't really better, and was supposed to be a fight between top contenders . To be honest, I kind enjoyed both fights, in a ''watching a train wreck'' way.

 

No I meant it's biological and physically proven that a human over that weight isn't going to be the most effective at MMA.
Boxing is different though: the cardio and V02 max levels needed are way higher in MMA: 3 min rounds v 5 min rounds...using punches alone vs using punches, kicks, grappling...

 

I think it has a lot more to do with these two guys being 2 bags of fat than any difference in the sport

 

Anyone who thought that this fight was meant to reveal some future top contender obviously knows nothing about the sport.

Guys doing MMA over 200lb is really tough on the cardio/VO2 max though...its a sport/fighting-style purely for lighter weights.

 

I disagree. Plenty have done it just fine in the past. We just have an absolutely pathetic crop currently. One of the worst ever.
