Not just Jamaicans, West Indians (or Caribbean folk in general) are frugal. African-Americans are the worst when it comes to preserving wealth. Bernard Hopkins may be an exception because phonetap gets the sense he hasn't wasted his money over the years.

phonetap always knew Floyds extravagant lifestyle would come back to haunt him one day.

No Matter HOW You Slice it, the Simple Fact is Floyd AIN'T Got it Like he CLAIMS He Got It...PERIOD...

If Floyd Had Access to ANYWHERE NEAR the Amount of Money he Wants People to Believe He Has, he'd have QUIETLY Paid Off this Latest IRS Debt and it'd have Likely NEVER Went to the Press...

The FACT Floyd ASKED for a Postponement Until the McGregor Check Clears Speaks VOLUMES...

Top 10 is very generous to Floyd.

He could have had a much stronger case at being top 10, or even top 5, but he chose to make "good business decisions" instead.

Only all-time top 5 list he makes is his all-time ranking at 130, which is arguably #1.

I have Floyd top 20 all time. Top 15 the highest I'll accept before it starts to sound like a teeny bopper response.

Top 5 is the shit that casual fans (like Sly) who know zero about boxing say.

Only in the warped, misinformed mind of a casual fan is Floyd greater than Robinson, Ali, Armstrong, Duran, Louis, Charles, Leonard, ect...

And Tap, why would Warren Buffet waste his time, the time precious years he has left since he could croak any year now, to school a fuckin idiot like Floyd on investing? He wouldn't waste his time.

You don't think Buffet can decipher a smart business man from a fool?

Smart business men - Sean Combs, Shawn Carter, Dr. Dre, Magic Johnson.

    Fool - Floyd

    Brother Tap's RIGHT Though...

Warren Buffett's Shown an Affinity for Trying to ADVISE Young, Black, NEW Money Motherfuckers On How to HANDLE Their Shit...

And it's Usually Buffett Reaching Out to THEM Initially, Which Says a LOT about the Dude...

LeBron, Floyd, and Lately, Buffett Loooooooooooooooooves Bud Crawford's Dirty Drawers, Being "Homeboys" and All...

Bron and Buffett were PARTICULARLY Tight in Bron's EARLY Money Days...And To Whatever Degree Crawford Retires "Rich", Rest Assured he Won't Just Take Buffett's Advice, he'll LIVE By It...

Nonetheless, w/the SAME Access to the SAME Dude, PERPETUALLY Topping the List of Top Earning Sportsmen, Floyd is 1nce Again Getting Hemmed Up by the IRS???...

Crawford's not a naturally flashy guy. That much is already apparent. Do you follow him on social media? He makes seven figures each fight now, and seems to spend his money on fishing equipment. Definitely not a "bling bling" typa cat like Floyd is.

Bron seems like a smart business man, and he's already set after basketball. He can live off Nike checks alone for the rest of his life.

Once Floyd blows through his fighting fortune, he's done. He has no endorsements, and he's not a marketable figure.

Floyd should ask for a loan from his good friend Curtis Jackson.

  14. He's definitely top 5. It's only Bert Sugar cunts like you that try to pretend he's as low as 15 or 20. Objectively he's top 5 clearly in terms of his accomplishments and proven ability. Easily top 5.

Most of these douchey rich guys have no idea and leave it up to "managers" to invest their shit.

And these "managers" get a cut of profits, so tend towards higher risk investments rather than also have a nice slab of cash earning 2% in the good old bank. No thanks, long/short hedge funds and other high risk crap.

So if Floyd suddenly owes let's say $20 mil......there ain't no cash for it. He would probably have to sell down a lucrative asset to fund it....private jet, holiday home, restaurant chain, super yacht.

Johnny Depp has probably earned more than Floyd over his career, but his extravagance and stupidity sees him BORROW millions to take his family on holidays via private jet, superyacht etc etc.

Depp is basically illiquid and is now selling up assets.....but everyone knows he's desperate, so he's getting lowballed and will end up losing a bunch of wealth overall.

Floyd is probably in a similar situation to Depp. Everyone needs cashflow.

  17. The respect is mutual brother Reed. Appreciated.

Still, either I'm biased towards Floyd or y'all are biased against Floyd. Let's consider this objectively and determine where the bias sits:

    In terms of ability

The art of Boxing is about hitting and not getting hit. Name more than 4 fighters in history that have a better combination of accuracy versus elusiveness than Floyd has. Use compubox or anything else. Percentage punches landed and percentage punches landed against.

    In terms of accomplishments

Name more than 4 fighters that have a better combination of the following:

    1. Defeated as many current or former titlists/champions
    2. Better win loss ration
    3. Longer win streak in terms of a) years and b) number of fights
    4. Won as many championship fights
    5. Win as many consecutive championship fights
    6. Won titles in as many weight classes
    7. Longevity at the top
    8. Beat as many undefeated champions

If you could name more than 4 guys...just 4, I'll bow that he may not be top 5.

Let's see where the bias lies....

You can throw Nick Cage in the same boat with Depp and Floyd. Cage is also a ludicrous spender, and I know he WAS having financial difficulty several years ago. But I think he pulled himself out of the hole.

above lightweight, mayweather jr has not shown the ability nor does he have anywhere close to the resume to be considered among the 10 greatest fighters ever. at 135lbs or below Id give him a good chance vs anyone in history, however.

  20. Xplosive

I concur with this entire post.

I think he'd lose to Duran, Whitaker, Armstrong, and Chavez at 135, but I can't call them mismatches.

At 140, I'd give him a chance against any junior welter in history.

I'd favor him over anybody in the history of 130.

At 147 is when he starts losing to many great welters.

  21. Bordon

I agree with x and Neil. At 140 and below Floyd looked great and he had adequate competition to give him his props. There's a very shortlist of guys I'd pick over Floyd at these weights.

His run after that wasn't that impressive at all. He made a name legitimately and cashed it in. His biggest fans are in awe of the past prime, very beatable version of him.

Yeah, I've always said I rank him very high H2H from 130-140. Even though his opposition at 140 was weak, he might have been at his best there, physically and from more experience.

People would always compare him (and Pacquiao) at physically larger, ATG welterweights like Leonard and Hearns who would handily beat him. I'd put him a level down when it comes to WWs and match him against guys like Marlon Starling, Ike Quartey, and Simon Brown. The same thing with Pernell Whitaker, who H2H could match up with anyone from 135-140, but not so much above that.

Floyd could have done wonders for his all-time ranking and legacy (not that he really cares) if he had just fought Manny in 2010. But he was only concerned about "good business decisions".

Likewise, it would have meant a lot more if he had defeated Miguel Cotto 4 years earlier. Bob Arum obviously had something to do with that, but it's not like Floyd pursued it. He chased a DLH rematch and then retired.

As it is, the best win of post-2007 career is Canelo Fucking Alvarez. He had great longevity, but beating great opposition in your prime is more important than beating good opponents when you're getting old.

A sad display of being a "low-risk businessman" for such a brilliant boxer.

It'll serve him right if he fights on too long to pay off the IRS, tries to cherry pick again, and loses. A la Sugar Ray Leonard thinking Terry Norris was an easy mark.

i like the betting line for the over/under ppv buy rate. +140 under 4.99 million. not sure how long you have to wait to cash that in but i doubt it does that many buys.

Buffet insulted Floyd without Floyd being smart enough to know he was being insulted.

I saw a clip where Floyd said something like, "me and Warren need to talk about 'bidness.'"

Buffet responded by saying something like "if I need a couple million I'll call you." A couple million? Buffet made that much in the time span of his response.

"Like I said before..." Buffet doesn't do business with someone who can't pronounce business.

Fuck Floyd "No Mas Money" Mayweather.

The problem with this line of thinking is Floyd isn't that fucking smart. You don't have $15 million in cars in ONE garage. Everyone knows a car is a depreciating asset. I've read he has a similar fleet at his Miami home. Would assume he has the same at his L.A. home.

Secondly, wealthy people's version of funds that aren't liquid isn't comprised of cars and jewelry.

The level of money awareness you're speaking of does not and has never applied to Floyd.

Here's a video of Floyd pulling out supposedly $5 million in cash...

LMAO! I didn't see that clip, but yeah, that's TOTALLY a slap in the face comment. I'm positive that Floyd is so retarded that he likely took it as a compliment.

I can just imagine Floyd telling Buffett, "I has cars. I has mansions. I has jets. I has jewelry. "

Buffett, "That's nice. I has 70 billion and I still live in a small house in Omaha. Get the fuck out my office."

A lot of this, SADLY, is a cultural thing. Too many rich black folk feel the need to flaunt their money for validation. What's NOT a cultural thing is... Floyd never fucking grew up. He's a man child.

Diddy, and Jay were flashing cash.... when they were fuckin 27!

Floyd is 40 and still doing it.

I also get the impression that rappers like Jay-Z do it as directed, as part of the music video, while Floyd really needs to do it to feel good about himself.

But yeah, 40 years old and acting like that. Sad.
