McGregor couldn't handle the barrage of scrubby arm punches coming from Diaz.

    1. At 170 on a few weeks notice? Yeah I'm sure it was tough. Rematch he handled them tho and dropped Diaz several times, winning the fight.

He was definitely hurt and tired and chose to get submitted than ko'ed.

It was a few weeks notice for Diaz as well.

Diaz is a sloppy fighter with no head movement and slappy arm punches. About the only thing that he has going for him is that he is tough.

McGregor was a big favorite in the first fight and he couldn't even make it 2 rounds before he got tired.

Also it's not like he dominated the 2nd fight either even though he won. He was getting slapped around quite a bit by Diaz in that one too.

Mcgregor never fought at 170 man. And in the rematch he dropped Diaz about 4 times, went the distance and won. That's a pretty big accomplishment. Especially at 170 again.

Didn't Diaz spend most of his career at a lower weight though? It seemed like the first fight he just didn't have enough time to drop the weight. He didn't have to cut weight but neither did McGregor. It's also not like Diaz is some killer. He's not that great.

I guess it's just surprising that someone that is praised for their striking ability had so much trouble with Diaz who throws shitty looping arm punches and never moves his head at all.

It doesn't matter. Diaz has fought at 170 and is the bigger guy. Also Diaz may throw sloppy, looping punches, it's effective and is one of the best strikers in the game with some of the best stamina too.

Diaz was a lightweight fighter at the time. The only reason he couldn't make the lw limit was because he accepted the fight on 2 days notice. And I personally think he won the second fight, but it was very very close

I find it hard to believe that Diaz is one of the best strikers in MMA. His striking sucks. Does he just pull a Homer Simpson and let dudes beat on him until they get tired?

in the fights leading up to the McGregor fight wasn't Diaz fighting at the same weight as him? It not like he had spent his whole career at a higher weight. It's just an excuse for McGregor because he lost to what was supposed to be an inferior fighter.

You watch a lot more MMA than I do but I just don't see how Diaz was this dangerous fighter weight or no weight.

Do you understand that McGregor cut weight for a 155 lb fight and chose to fight Diaz on a weeks notice who came into the ring at over 180 lbs?

It was more than that too. Conor was jumping up in weight from 145 to 155. But that fight got cancelled and Diaz took the fight at 170. Conor had to eat like a fucking pig to gain weight. The guy was clearly sluggish as fuck.

He is. It's an awkward style that is hard to deal with. Diaz is a much bigger guy and came into the fight weighing way more.

John L Sullivan did it too. He used to enter bars yelling 'I am John L Sullivan and I can lick any motherfucker in this place', which is not far off from what happens now.

Johnson was perhaps the first witty trash-talker though

Diaz took the fight on less than two weeks notice right? Was he even training before the fight? I thought I remembered him being on vacation or something?

Put it this way, under the same circumstances would you expect an in shape Errol Spence to lose to an out of shape Ishe Smith in 4 rounds because Smith would be bigger?

I'm a pretty Casual MMA fan compared to you guys so maybe I'm missing something?

Nah, McGregor is VERY Familiar w/and Appreciative of Hip Hop Culture, Brother Tap...He WOULDN'T Cross Any Racial Lines, in REED's Opinion...

McGregor's Mic Being Cut had NATHAN to Do w/Fear of Him Getting Racial w/Floyd, it was Fear of him CLOWNING Floyd...

I'm not afraid to play the race card, but I think I'll give Conor a pass for the "boy" comment. He's from Ireland, and might not be privy to the African AMERICAN "boy" connotation. Or, he MIGHT be privy to it... but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

If Conor was from Alabama and said "Dance for me, boy" then I'd consider it HIGHLY intentional.

The strange thing about it is that when Conor said it yesterday, Floyd immediately began dancing on cue. I wonder if Floyd's illiterate ass knows the connotations himself.

You can tell by the look on Floyd's face that he's trying VERY HARD to keep cool and not let Conor get under his skin.

If he wasn't bothered by him, he'd look him in the eye and just laugh at his antics but he can't bring himself to do that.

This is great. I'd imagine that Floyd literally NEVER has anyone talk to him like this in real life. It's nothing but an ass kissing fest 24/7 365...very refreshing

    Maybe not in person.

50 was the first one to attack him to him on reading (or lack of) ability.

Ya that must be the only case but even then it felt like they're just messing with one another

You think these two AREN'T just messing with eachother?

There's no REAL bad blood in this fight... this ain't DLH-Vargas.

These two scam artists are making eachother 9 fig paydays, they don't hate eachother.

This is a whole a show... and the mainstream is falling for hook, line, and sinker.

That's true. I wanna hear some woman beating jokes because you know floyd would never allow anyone to go there

If this isnt proof that conor shook floyd and that Floyd really cant read, i dont know what is.

Who the hell gets excited about a few cards and then have your boy film it, dancing around talking about your reading? This is insecurity at it's finest. Shook.
