Been a long time since I wanted Floyd to dish out a beating. I officially want Floyd to dish out a horrible beating.

 

MMA isn't even real fighting. It has rules and regulations.

MMA is just closer to that than boxing. No more no less.

 

From what I've heard, mcgregor folded mentally in his loss to that journeyman and allowed himself to be submitted. If this is true then calling him a quitter would probably stick with him. He also has to aware of the possibility that Floyd will outclass him and he'll want to quit at some point.

 

Don't tell white trash like Anthony that. It's part of their identity. They sleep safe knowing they can put a terrorist or a rowdy negro in a triangle choke if they have to.

 

Boxing will sustain longer than MMA because despite MMA's variety of skills implemented - striking, ground n pound, ect... in the realm of combat sports, the MOST compelling fight will always be a good ole fashioned fist fight. And the hand skills used in MMA will NEVER equal that of boxing.

 

Real fights can have eye gauging, groin shots, biting,head kicks to a downed opponent. With shoes on and no 4 ounce gloves.

So MMA isn't a real fight. It's just closer to it than is boxing.

 

There's nobody who can convince me that a BIG part of MMA's popularity isn't because it's a sport marketed at young white guys, dominated by young white guys. Finally, a combat sport they can excel at. OF COURSE that's a big reason why MMA has exploded.

They got tired of seeing us and Hispanics dominate boxing for decades on end.

 

Whenever mma fans talk about it being like a real fight I think about how they lay on their back and kick people away like a retarded crab.

To quote Al Pacino, if a "real fight" gets to that point "You lost, mothafucka!"

 

When I was growing up, a "real fight" was almost always two dudes knuckling up until one was either on their back, or decided they had enough. That was the era when EVERY dude in NYC thought they were Mike with the hands.

There was also an "honor system" of you didn't hit or continue to pound a dude once they hit the ground. You told em "Get ya ass up!" and you continued to knuckle up.

MMA fans created their own definition of what a "real fight" is.

 

There's no one definition of what a "real fight" is, but the purest and most honorable way for two men to settle their differences has always been and will always be a fist fight.

I hope you don't falsely assume that a MMA fighter would beat a boxer in a street fight everytime. Cause I assure you, that's not true.

Floyd is a horrible example of a boxer to be feared in a street fight.

But guys like Hopkins, Tyson, Duran, all in their physical primes of course, would mop the floor with most MMA bums on the street.

 

I think the truth to a ´real fight´ is either Vale Tudo or Krav Maga.
Vale Tudo here in Brasil is basically: Boxing - Muay-Thai - Brasilian Jiu-Jitsu - Judo - Karate - Wrestling - Capoeira - Sambo - Savate...any combat sport with few if any rules.
Krav Maga is more of a military-based self-defense system that employs absolutely anything to get the job done.

I used to date a women who was taking Krav-Maga classes and she was a fucking loon - enjoyed inflicting pain and taking it.
Hot as fuck, but bat-shit crazy - had tattoos all over her body and shit.

Xplosive - youve kinda shot youself in the foot throughout this thread by complaining about this fight, and what its all about - it´s a clear sign you hate Mixed Martial Arts....and the fact a Mixed Martial Artist is actually particitpating in the biggest Boxing match of all time....has rattled you.
I can see why boxing enthusiasts are getting bent out of shape about it though....

 

Don't flatter yourself. This is a circus event. Everybody who's not an idiot knows it's a mismatch... it's just viewed as a spectacle, not a fight.

The biggest boxing match of all time is still Ali-Frazier 1.

MMA groupies on the other hand ARE salty for the fact that the biggest star their sport has ever had, has to crossover to boxing to create the biggest fight in MMA history.

 

But you´re missing the point: love or hate it - this is todays´ generation´s Ali-Frazier.

Boxing is dying today.....badly. There are hardly any boxing gyms around anymore. Kids and more importantly, women are taking to MMA and thats a fact.
But, if you love the ´sweet science´ and enjoy watching Lomachenko show off his perfect boxing skills in front of 5,000 people without a peep, then thats also fine.

There´s room for everyone....

 

There is a few hispanics, blacks and brazilians in MMA...many of them have been or are champions. But at least white guys still have hope of winning...and they win often in the UFC. If the UFC were dominated by a bunch of Cormier, Jones, Woodley, Silvas, Cruz, Diaz...without having a few reps for white america..even if they are not americans...it will hurt the ufc popularity...

Ummm... it was two UNDEFEATED heavyweights....one, the reigning heavyweight champion of the world who had been destroying all comers, yet hadn't attained respect from the masses, and the other, the man whom most still recognized as the heavyweight champion because he had never lost his title in the ring. Two men with polar opposite styles, polar opposite personalities, and who the nation was split on who they were rooting for various reasons... many political. Two men with REAL hatred of one another... not this contrived circus shit that May-McGregor is.

It was THE fight.

This... is a circus.... and everybody knows it's a circus. An MMA star making his PRO BOXING DEBUT against one of the top 20 boxers that ever lived.

It's an EVENT. It's not a fight. And there are some who consider it such an absurd "fight" that they won't watch, ESPECIALLY considering it's $100.

Flash back to 1971, and I doubt you can find ANYBODY not tuned in to watch Ali-Frazier 1.... on free tv, I might add.
